Editor’s Note: The 6.5% abv European version is listed under St Feuillien

Our second collaboration with Brasserie St-Feuillien, Friendship Brew, is a Black Saison that blends European and American hops, Belgian yeast and a cache of secret spices. The aroma and flavors are enticing, with delicate fruitiness, subtle spice and rounded roast malt characteristics. Bottle conditioning provides lively carbonation and rich beer foam for a luscious body and a lean, dry finish.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2013 Big, creamy Belgian head on this Cali-Belge combo. Very noticeable fruity, floral aroma with a sprinkling of yeast and coffee. The flavor is unexpectedly sharp, dry, and tart. There are some burnt grains, and a little sourness and acidity. Not a super successful collaboration.

yeah its a black ale. the brown head.leaves a blanketous lace on the shaker. the aroma... spice/herb/ vegetable. the flavor... the same... generically. Brew a generic beer... that’s what you’re gonna get... a generic rating. drink this if you want to generically taste a spice/herb/vegetable beer.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2013 G F or S F, WTF? First at the bocktown then at the vintage ( 2/2013) First rating: On tap at the bocktwon monaca, nice place. Big large black pour, large and in charge. Fading choco moose head. Nice lacing, quite titlating. Mildly sweet aroma; a little flowery on the olfactory. Very little sizzle impressions. Yes, nice intruiging lace. Very little of that typical stout stuff in here dude. Roasty attributes are lacking. Seems to posses some some odd spices in there. Comes across more bitter than it should for a gentle man stout. Yes, a tad medicinal on the finish.
