COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our second collaboration with Brasserie St-Feuillien, Friendship Brew, is a Black Saison that blends European and American hops, Belgian yeast and a cache of secret spices. The aroma and flavors are enticing, with delicate fruitiness, subtle spice and rounded roast malt characteristics. Bottle conditioning provides lively carbonation and rich beer foam for a luscious body and a lean, dry finish.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 4-20-13. Refreshing, sweet, fruity, yeasty, tangy, juicy aroma features chocolate-covered strawberries, mango, raspberry-flavored dark chocolate candy bar, caramel, and watermelon bubblegum scents. Unique, powerful, appetizing, very good smell. Pours dark brown with an amber hue. Streaks of very small bubbles that rise at moderate speed. Large amount of fluffy taupe head. Produces very good lacing. A strong 4 for appearance. Bitter taste features taffy, licorice, coffee with cream, lemon, and minerals flavors. There’s an orange tang in the taste. A touch of booze in the flavor. The same watermelon bubblegum element that’s in the aroma is also in the flavor. Salt, especially in the finish. Some noticeable spices, especially black pepper. Long, dry, bitter, strong, roasted coffee aftertaste. Medium body. Soft in the palate. The palate rating of 4 is due to the strong aftertaste; the other palate effects are unremarkable. Overall, way more interesting and better than I expected. Unique, aromatic, and dare I say delicious? Underrated. It’s hard to believe it has this much flavor with such a low alcohol content. 9/4/8/4/17=>4.2

Bottle 33 cl. Pours black with brown white foamy and lacing head. Very interesting combination first roasted coffee and then finish is pretty fruity. Not to complex. Pretty straight forward.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Dark brown, huge frothy tan head and also lots of lacing. Aroma is mostly spices hard to pinpoint, some roasted malts are also noticeable. Taste is very earthy, sweet but very spicy too, some dark fruit notes and some hop bitterness. Very interesting, very nice.

Bottle at Sybarite Pig. Very dark brown pour with light tan head. No lace. Nose is spices, root beer, cinnamon. Taste was surprisingly different. Maybe a bad batch? Heavy taste of either white pepper or chili pepper. Mostly heavy carbonation, bitter, unpleasant.

This one poured a semi murky medium brown color with a large beige head. Aroma was of light roasted malt, chocolate, spices, and brett. Flavor was chocolate and mild roast upfront, some dark fruits, followed by a big brett finish. Interesting.
