COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our second collaboration with Brasserie St-Feuillien, Friendship Brew, is a Black Saison that blends European and American hops, Belgian yeast and a cache of secret spices. The aroma and flavors are enticing, with delicate fruitiness, subtle spice and rounded roast malt characteristics. Bottle conditioning provides lively carbonation and rich beer foam for a luscious body and a lean, dry finish.

Bottle at home. Black pour. Good beige head. Hops, chocolate and fresh notes in the aroma. Good coffee taste, yeast and hops. Nice combo. Could use some more body.

Pours a pitch black with a huge off-white head with decent retention and great lace. Really, really foamy - took forever to pour a full glass. Aroma reminds me of Speculaas cookies - spicy, sweet, and also a sort of strange cheap cola aroma too. Curiously watery, ash, burnt coffee taste. Not rich, but potent. Astringent hop finish, spices difficult to distinguish but perhaps allspice, nutmeg? Thin, watery body with aggressive carbonation. Not really well-executed, plenty of unbalanced flavour.

12oz bottle. It pours a beige head that disappears fast with structured lacing. coffee coloured. immense aroma of clove, mint, liquorice and stimorol bubblegum. taste is like the aroma with a bitter herbal aftertaste. medium body and quite a lof of carbonation. ok so the label says "ale with spices" but this is really overdoing it. Unpleasant

Bottle. Yeast, cinnamon/coriander, and malt aroma. Dark brown with nice tan head. Dry musty lemon, malt and spicy bitter flavor. Nice body. Very good.

Dark brown pour, huge fluffy tan head. Spicy aroma with clove, hints of vanilla and some funky yeast notes. Taste has mild yeast notes, spices and a dry, bitter finish. Medium-light body with high carbonation.

Rich black with a thick tan head, looks a lot like rich, black coffee. Aroma is intense spice with notes of anise. A little bit of sweet malt as well, very nice. Flavor is less pleasant than the aroma. A little too much licorice overwhelms the beer. Some sweet malt as well, but the noticeable flavor is bitter spices. Takes over the beer a bit too much. Wife: 2.3 Reminds her of Robitussin and Jaeger.

355 ml bottle black with bright tan head. Aroma and taste mainly of liquorice root, clove and Chinese herbs. Medicinal bitterness, very odd
