Poured from bottle into snifter, clear as mud and dirty brown thick head. Smoky spices hit the nose like roasted malt. I think this may be my first black saison. Not a fan of the initial taste OR the lingering aftertaste. I don’t care for stouts or coffee brews and this tastes like a coffee brewed stout with smoked fruit and roasted malts. Some ashes from a public grill may have been mixed in as well. The secret spices might be tobacco. I need to go brush my teeth now.

Despite the low individual rankings i liked it and thought it had a good concept. Problem is it has a bit of an antiseptic taste to it. Not sure which of the spices it is but historically through beers, i really don’t enjoy it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Hueless darkest dark brown, big rocky mocha head settles and mostly lasts. Aroma is yeasty, dark fruitiness. Bitter dark roast, chocolate malty taste, dark fruits, spicy, some caramel, with a PNW hop influence. Average carbonation, medium bodied, moderately hopped. A somewhat confused crossover makes it: DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)

Bouteille de 12oz. offerte par Patrick. Merci.
