3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20[Bottle] Pours dark brown with a good sized tan head. Aroma has a good deal of spice, some coriander, and yeast. Roasted malt appears with warming. Taste is really strange, with coriander again, some allspice and nutmeg, moderate bitterness, and roasted malt towards the end (which is also accentuated as it warms). The finish is probably the weakest point, with a lingering acrid taste which is hard to get rid of. Decent mouthfeel, smooth, and a long finish. Overall, this is a really strange beer, and although I can see how some would really not care for it, the beer worked for me. I did prefer the beer a little colder, since the roasted malt wasn’t quite as dominant then.

Amazing looking black body with stable creamy coffee coloured head. Interesting mix of spices, clove and juniper berries, with lively yeast and nutty malts. Bit of fennel. Taste is a bit thin and watery but still spiced. Green pepper corns and pumpkin, too. Very American interpretation of Belgian beer, not at all true to the style or refined. Set aside that, it’s a dry bodied and spiced beer that certainly won’t appeal to everyone. For me... I could so without the spice really. More malts please, the yeast is great enough to carry it. beige head that disappears fast with structured lacing. coffee coloured. immense aroma of clove, mint, liquorice and stimorol bubblegum. taste is like the aroma with a bitter herbal aftertaste. medium body and quite a lof of carbonation. ok so the label says "ale with spices" but this is really overdoing it ... so much that it’s nasty/unpleasant to drink. expected way more of this collaboration. bottle 35.5 cl

355ml bottle. Pours practically black with a decent-sized, latte-colored head. Aroma is very reminiscent of Finnish mat cleaning detergent, Mäntysuopa. Quite medicinal, somewhat mentholic, very much eucalyptus. Taste is much of the same though also roasted. Only the roast is any pleasant, unfortunately. Palate is quite good, medium and perhaps a bit too carbonated. However, the aroma and flavor are so pleasant as to render this perfectly undrinkable. Blech! First poor Green Flash I’ve come across. Too bad really. Not infected, but just a very poor combination and too large an amount of spices.

Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice and roasted malt, with some anise character. Dry and roasted malty flavour with licorice

Pours a weird grey dull brown color with a light khaki foam. Lots of spice, too much even on the nose and follows on the palate. Nutmeg, gingerbread, allspice... like a spilled spice cabinet in a lifeless yeasty thin beer. Not a fan.

Bouteille 22oz. De couleur noire-brune et opaque. Nez d’anis, moyen d’épices (gingembre, léger de poivre) et de malt rôti, léger de levures fruitées (lime, traces de petits fruits foncés), légèrement herbeux et floral (herbes aromatiques). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse. Moyen goût de levures fruitées (lime et zeste, notes de petits fruits foncés) aux faibles notes sauvages et aigres avec un moyen goût épicé (moyen de poivre et de gingembre, traces de clou de girofle) avec des notes d’anis lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de malt rôti avec des traces de café puis progressivement un goût asséchant, assez herbeux et moyennement floral (houblons, herbes aromatiques, traces de menthe) vient se rajouter jusqu’en finale. Post-goût moyen-long et moyen-sec, moyen-léger amer de houblon herbeux et floral avec un goût de levures fruitées (zeste de lime) aux notes acides ainsi qu’avec un léger goût rôti.

12oz bottle from Premier Gourmet. Pretty deep brown-black pour with a HUGE frothy lasting light brown head. Smells great - anise, sweet roast, funky bitterness, some alcohol - very floral. Taste - bitter and funky/acidic, roast like an old porter, rope-y. Light body, slick, mild carbonation, astringent, tart, dry and bitter. I really liked it!

Very fruitty nose. Apoearence is cloudy light yellow with some sediment. Taste is lemon, grapefruit, slightly pasty, but not too bad. Above average carbonation. Smooth. A good summer beer.

Bottle shared with esp0r at Schouskjelleren, february 22nd 2013. Black body with a big light brown head. Aroma is yeasty with pepper, hops, herbs. Roasty and a bit sweet taste, containing blackcurrant, herbs and spices. Strong bitterness, and an aftertaste of malt and yeast. Quite different from other saisons.

Big longlasting creamy head. Aroma is spicy and sour-ish, dark malts, anise, sour dark berries, grass, citrus, chocolate. Taste is a little flat, anise, grass, heather, dark berries, minerals, spices. Medium bitterness. Interesting at most.
