3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught from Milltown in Carrboro. Pour was one of the loveliest I’ve seen. In a St. Feuillien glass, with nearly two fingers of a tan head notable due to the uniformity of the bubbles through the glass. The foam on top was creamy and soft, but the bubbles beneath were like little uniform pearls. The aroma and taste? Intense. Not everyone’s thing, for sure, but I kind of liked it. It was big... lots of roasty malt, big hops in the form of resin and grapefruit pith, and a astringent thing that reminded me of brett. Taste was the same, with some added mild anise. Intense, but I enjoyed sipping this over lunch.

Despite the low individual rankings i liked it and thought it had a good concept. Problem is it has a bit of an antiseptic taste to it. Not sure which of the spices it is but historically through beers, i really don’t enjoy it.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Hueless darkest dark brown, big rocky mocha head settles and mostly lasts. Aroma is yeasty, dark fruitiness. Bitter dark roast, chocolate malty taste, dark fruits, spicy, some caramel, with a PNW hop influence. Average carbonation, medium bodied, moderately hopped. A somewhat confused crossover makes it: DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)
