COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
30th Street Pale Ale is a strong pale ale that is well dry-hopped making it taste like an IPA by many hop head’s standards. The beer was brewed to recognize the synergy behind the craft beer culture on 30th Street in San Diego and was released for the Green Flash 6th Anniversary Celebration.

Nice brass-amber colored pour. The label on the bottle is pretty dull, and makes it look like a budget brew. But things get better from there. The aroma is excellent, with lots of flowers, pine, and citrus. The flavor is equally good - dry but balanced, with resiny hops, a little pith, and no off notes. There is a little limestone tingle in the finish, but it still goes down smoothly. The 30th Street in the name is in San Diego, but I first thought it was the one in Philly. A very good APA indeed.

Slightly hazy yellow pour with a white head. Somewhat tropical hoppy nose. More subdued in the taste.

Bright orange pour of medium clarity, offwhite head on top about a quarter inch high. Rich scent of juicy citrus, grapefruit, and pollen or honey, cedar and lemon. Average carbonation and viscous mouthfeel, assertice and crisp finish. Taste resembles the nose but with more biter emphasis. Grapefruit citrus and honey, pollen, and cedar asre swept up with bitter pine and an earthy malt base. Nice pale ale with a big, somewhat complex hop bill.

Bottle, shared with Robbie, post-RBAG 2014. Light orange, frothy crown, nice lace. Smells like a fresh pine forest! Very aromatic piney hop profile, just beautiful, with a terrific malt structure that adds just enough sweetness. Long bitter finish. So good!

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a decent lasting white frothy to creamy head that leaves great lacing. Faint aroma of pine, citrus and floral perfume. Medium bitter, light body, thin texture, lively carbonation and a fairly long bitter finish. Not terribly well balanced-almost no malt.

Tap at Watering Hole. Nice, lots of fruit, citrus and tropical plus bit of graininess. Light sweetness, but still good bitterness. Orange and mango maybe. Slightly funky mineral finish. Nice! Refreshing.

Pours a slightly hazy gold color with a big light tan head that settles to a nice film with excellent retention and good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit with floral and dank character and a bit of sweetness. Taste is pretty big for a pale ale with citrus rind, floral and onion notes, a bit of caramel sweetness and some earthy pepper in the dry finish. Aftertaste has a lingering moderate bitter and pepperiness. Light/medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Blurs the line between a pale ale and IPA with lots of hop character. Very good.

Clear, pure gold, with a two-finger head and very nice lace. Aromas of sharp citrus hops - grapefruit with a touch of orange and lime - peppery spice and a pale malt background. Bitter hops up front is eventually offset with a gentle pale malt sweetness, but the bitterness is shighlight throughout. Medium to full body, gnerous carbonation, super smooth and creamy mouthfeel, and a wonderful crisp bitter finish.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, white head with some lacing, over a clear amber (SRM 10) body......nose is pine, citrus, slightly dusty, cereal, light herbs, no esters, balance to the hops.....taste is cereal, light sweetness, pine, resin, citrus peel, leading to a moderate lingering simple, slightly harsh bitterness.....mouth feel, body light of medium, mild astringency, no alcohol, finishing with a soft carbonation. The hop bitterness is dominant over the floral hop characteristics, and the malt backbone. An adjustment in the hop backbone would make for a more balanced and better beer. BJCP 7/3/11/4/6

650ml bottle. Has a very nice and heavily dry hopped bright citrusy nose. Flavor is pretty high on citrus hops, not much bitterness at all.
