30th Street Pale Ale is a strong pale ale that is well dry-hopped making it taste like an IPA by many hop head’s standards. The beer was brewed to recognize the synergy behind the craft beer culture on 30th Street in San Diego and was released for the Green Flash 6th Anniversary Celebration.

22oz bottle in a teku. Pours amber/golden with an off-white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy and resinous hops, some pale and caramel malts, and light spicy notes plus dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not a bad pale ale.

Bottle. Amber pour with a short white head. Aroma is fruity and floral with soft malt notes. Taste is big floral hops, citrus fruit, soft pine, toasted malt and caramel. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly carbonation and lingering hop bitterness. Finishes with more floral hops, hop resins, citrus, light pine, toasted malt and light caramel. Nice sessionable pale ale!

Growler from taps. Nice mild hop profile with a solid malt back bone to round it out a bit. Grassy and herbal with light citrus and orange flavors. Very easy to drink.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours clear copper with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is intense piney hops, caramel malt in balance, black pepper. Tastes hoppy piney, caramel malty, well balanced, crisp, and with a bitter and hoppy finish. This is another great one from Green Flash.

22 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Hazy orange pour with a short off-white head. Beautiful pine and citrus hop aroma. Taste is of pine needles, grapefruit rind, and wet grass. Bitterness is lingering but not off-putting. One of the hoppiest American pale ales I have ever tried.

Amber pour with a thick, foamy, white head that stays forever. Permanent lacing. Curtains is more like it. Nose is like an IPA. Taste is like an IPA: bitter and hoppy as hell. Good though. Full body, lively carbonation. Nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle from Proof bottle shop. Gold pour with an off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, resiny citrus and caramel. Tastes are citrus, grass, floral, pine mixed with a strong caramel malt backbone. Little lemon cake element to it. Well balanced, light bitterness. Really like this - easy drinking.

Draft at Keystone-Hyde Park, served in a pint glass. Pours a somewhat cloudy orange color with a small eggshell white head that forms a lasting, soft cap atop the beer. I mean, it lasts all the way to the bottom without any holes. The beer starts grassy, with some herbs and florals and straw, and has an almost watery mouthfeel. As it opens, though, it gets increasingly fruity and balanced by a bready malt backbone. Citrus, light tropicals, a bit of pine. Light-medium bodied, with moderate soft carbonation. At first, I was a little disappointed based on how much I’ve liked other GF offerings. But this was pretty good by the fifth sip or so.
