30th Street Pale Ale is a strong pale ale that is well dry-hopped making it taste like an IPA by many hop head’s standards. The beer was brewed to recognize the synergy behind the craft beer culture on 30th Street in San Diego and was released for the Green Flash 6th Anniversary Celebration.

Growler Fill from The Filling Station. This beer reminds me a lot of a light version of their Imperial IPA. It’s definitely a pale ale but leans ever so closely to an IPA. Big piney tropical notes on the nose, very hoppy aroma for a pale. Taste follows... lots of papaya, tropical fruit, bananas, and a semi-sweet malt back. Absolutely awesome pale ale.

Bottle from Wholefoods. Nice fruit punch aroma. Pleasant fruity taste, with high bitterness. Tasty pale ale.

This is a pretty decent IPA. It’s clear golden orange w/ a foamy head. It’s got a mix of citrus and floral hops in the nose--nice but nothing exceptional--and is relatively dry w/ solid bitterness. It’s medium bodied w/ carbonation a bit on the gentle side. I definitely wouldn’t mind pounding a few of these any afternoon of the week but I don’t see myself picking up over other options that are local to me.

Bottle from Meditrina. Copper with lasting head and lace. Mild tangerine and bread and spice aroma. Fairly sweet honey tangerine and trying to put my finger on something else, not really nutty, with some fruity hop and a hint of resin. Medium body. Fine carbo. There’s some kind of herbal thing going on that doesn’t suit my tastes. Nevertheless, good but not great IMHO.

Another solid beer from Green Flash. Although I’m not a fan of blurring the lines between pale ales and IPA, it seems to be a trend that is not going away anytime soon! Heavily hopped on all levels. It is a nice summer "super" pale ale. 12oz bottles

Taster at AEON Liquor. Green hoppiness, piney and grassy, some lime and orange peel, long bitter finish. Definitely not my type of pale ale, too bitter and punchy on the palate to be sessionable.

Clear deep golden pour with a thin white soapy head and thick bands of white head .... Aroma of crystal malts and a nice citrusy orange, grapefruit and light floral hop .... Taste is light and of caramel malts, citrusy orange, light grapefruit and floral notes .... Has a nice bitter bite to it ... Malty backend .... Finished on a dry bitter hop note with a lingering citrus hop .... Sessionable and tasty pale ale

Bottle. Orange malt and peel aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet orange malt and mildly bitter orange peel flavor. Standard.

Draft. The pour is a golden orange. The aroma is fruity hops. The taste is a little light compared to the aroma and leaves a little to be desired. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle. Golden pour with nice pillowy head. Nose of candy lemon-lime, biscuity malt, raspberry atop a floral kick. Flavor is, yet again, candy-sweet, with assertive floral notes and delicate spice; lots of cascade present, el dorado shines underneath. Really unique in a super finessed, subtle, yet appreciable way. Two thumbs up. Really liking this one.
