30th Street Pale Ale is a strong pale ale that is well dry-hopped making it taste like an IPA by many hop head’s standards. The beer was brewed to recognize the synergy behind the craft beer culture on 30th Street in San Diego and was released for the Green Flash 6th Anniversary Celebration.

From bot this has a penetrating ipa perfume aroma. Looks like a slightly darker than pale hazy ale. Not as strong as expected hop impact. Resinous and almost approaches ipa territory, walks the line and almost steps in. Like many ipa this lacks co2 but I can almost detect it. Yes, resinous feel begins to override as the session continues. Almost becomes mouth coating. A little difficult for a lager lover in the end.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Very heady orange toned amber pour. Head lingers. The aroma brings out a clean but melted malt sweetness, vague grassy notes, crackers, and peat moss. The body is in the medium range. The taste has some fascinating toasted but creamy malt sweetness with a mild bitterness. I cannot quite describe how unique the flavor was but it was enlightening.

Bottle. Hazy, orangey-gold pour with a massive pillar of a white frothy head, ridiculous retention and lace. Nose is fruity and floral on a biscuity backdrop. Mouth is medium-full, relatively dry, lots of tropical fruit and resin, well balanced mash bill. Another outstanding beer from Green Flash.

From a pint glass poured from a growler purchased from Growl Movement in Salem. $12 Pours a darker golden colour with a large frothy creme coloured head. Nice aromas of floral and lemon zesty hops, noticeable caramel, cereal style malting. Smooth floral and lemon zest hop taste..mellowed by a strong malt base.. balanced.. Nice enough mouth feel..on the thinner side but this improves drinkability. A nice APA..no way could one confuse it with an IPA. Would make a nice summer beer

Bottle courtesy of sarkynortherner. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is big piney, resin. The is strong bitter with a big alcoholic citrus hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced.
