On tap at Streets for beer week! Pours with a thin white head that leaves a lot ifl lacing. Aroma is nice with the hops citrus. Flavor is nicely bittered, a little more than your average pale which is just right! Good malt balance on this one as well. Palate is medium bodied, not to thick, not too watery. Would be nice on a hot day.

On tap @ Stone. Pours a deep amber-red, clear with a nice white finger head which is very beautiful froth...lace is stringy and runs with only a little bit of stick. Aroma distinctly piney/spruce. Taste is true to nose, hop-forward, light-medium body, an excellent SD County Pale Ale. Finish is a tad astringent, but in a good way...saps the moisture in your mouth a tad, and you pucker at the bitter goodness. Very impressed with Green Flash these days...they know how to get mileage from their hops!

Growler Fill from The Filling Station. This beer reminds me a lot of a light version of their Imperial IPA. It’s definitely a pale ale but leans ever so closely to an IPA. Big piney tropical notes on the nose, very hoppy aroma for a pale. Taste follows... lots of papaya, tropical fruit, bananas, and a semi-sweet malt back. Absolutely awesome pale ale.

A: A light golden-yellow color with a nice white foam. S: Some good citrus but more pine from the hops. Decent malt backing. T: Very nice hop fruitiness from this beer. Lots of citrus and some pineapple. Excellent piney bitterness is present as well, along with a decent amount of malt. M: On the lighter side of things in terms of body, but good carbonation helps out. D: Overall, a very solid and easy drinking pale ale.

On tap at Green Flash brewery. Man, green flash makes great IPAs, which are even better fresh. 30th st pale ale in particular is insanely drinkable and good with it’s lower alcohol level. How wonderful it would be to have a keg of this at home. It’s funny how lighter beers never get the highest ratings, because they don’t have extreme flavor profiles. Oh well. Still an excellent beer.

Honey golden color, headless. Strong wafting aroma of honey, hops, and caramel malt. Flavor is sweet and chewy, great hop sting with the body to hold it. Very Natural. On tap at the brewery.

On tap @ Olympic Tavern in Rockford, IL. Pours a light amber with a medium white head. Citrus aroma with some spice and malt. Nice hoppy flavor, but not too overpowering. This is very well-balanced and easy to drink. Another winner from one of my favorite breweries.

On tap at Ritual Tavern (30th Street, San Diego, CA): Right on target! Pour clear dark golden with a white one-finger head. There’s a nice hoppy aroma filled with floral, grassy, and resiny notes. The flavor complements the aroma with added light fruity malts. Bitter finish. Coated mouthfeel and chewy throughout. Drinkability: Grassy. Pairing: Anchor Bar buffalo wings. Rebuy: Yes. #307 on 26022010, DG.
