Sweetness, fruits, spice and light alcohol in the aroma. Flavour of alcohol, fruits, sweetness, light caramel and some light grass. Is medium bodied. A bit dry. Alcohol, sweetness and light bitterness in the end. Quite sharp and unbalanced. brentfeesh (1036), Gadsden, Alabama, USA

The aroma is really what did it for me on this one. Just outstanding! Caramel, toffee and a blend of excellent hops. Just a party in my nose. The flavor was also good but just not as awesome as the aroma. Caramel, orange, alcohol (and it is boozy), and other bracing hop presences. This is a feast. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2008 This was a pretty solid barleywine that i got in a trade awhile ago. Still had a nice hop profile but really carmelized and rich background to it. TeamTrappist (382), jericho, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2008 22 oz bottle. Poured a brownish red with a small head. Huge hop nose, of the fruity, piney variety. The initial flavor was also hoppy, similar to their Imperial Ipa, but with a fuller mouthful. The hops are well balanced by a strong malt backbone. There was a hint of alcohol, but not too strong , and not really overpowering. The finish was supercharged bitter, and very long lasting. This is almost like a huge imperial ipa, as opposed to the sweeter more port like barley’s. Regardless, it is quite good. HenrikSoegaard (4322), Randers, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Bottle. Creamy slighly brown excellent fully lasting head. Amber colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Long nice moderate bitter fionish. Creamy palate. Not as vinius as other Barleys. Nephilium (547), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2008 The aroma starts off with a blast of hops, there’s a touch of alcohol hiding behind the hops, and after the hops get through, a touch of caramel. It pours a clear ruby red, with a huge fluffy light tan head. Nice caramel flavor, with a touch of pine to balance. Long caramel/bitter finish. Alcohol slightly noticeable in the flavor. Quite a tasty barleywine. I may have to try to get my hands on some to lay down. FrankJohansen (3367), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark

Sweet aroma and taste of caramel, fruits and alcohol. Slightly bitter finish. Too alcoholic for my liking. Marthinus (120), Denmark
