4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bomber. Hazy rusty amber pour with a modest light khaki head, some lacing. Smell is grassy, earthy, some dark fruits, caramel, roasted malt, definite hop presence, touch of citrus and alcohol. Taste is rich with plum, cherry, hop bitterness, caramel, and some smoke. Nice barley wine. Different from others I've tried with the earthy notes of flavor that I can't quite identify.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber wafting out caramel, marzipan dried dark fruits. Heavy tan swamp water appearance...looks like the Sudd. Strong tasting sweet malts precede a bitter bludgening. Not nuanced or subtle at a year out from bottling. Heavy body that carries itís weight on your palateís back. Good barleywine.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep, clear, reddish-amber. Head is medium sized and light beige with plenty of lacing. Big hoppy aroma; full of pine, citrus, caramel, and dark fruits. The taste is sweet and dark fruity with a substantial bitterness and barely any booze flavor. Medium full bodied and slightly dry with average carbonation. Well done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a deep orange color with a slight haze and a large off white head. Tons of overripe orange in the nose. It starts off with a good dose of malty sweetness up front quickly erased by lots of citric hops. Medium to full body with a medium to long finish. A solid American barleywine.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep amber colour, clear with a creamy tan head. Aroma of toffee and caramel with some brown sugar. Taste is sweet and bitter throughout with the sweetness slightly overtaking the bitterness. Medium body, creamy mouth feel, average carbonation. A fairly standard barleywine overall.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22 oz. bottle. It pours a dark amber color with a khaki head. The aroma is awesome with lots of red fruit and potent piney and citrusy hops. Some toffee as well. The flavor is the same with spicy, piney hops combining toffee, caramel, brown sugar, plums and raisins. Hard candy sweetness balanced beautifully with strong hops but not too bitter. I canít believe Iíve scrolled past this one for so long. I used to love barleywines before too many ugly examples spoiled them for me. This one reminds me of how great the style can be.
