| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 5, 2010 This has a quite pleasant smell. Like gumballs with hops. It is very bright and fresh. The color is slightly off copper, a light tan. Lots of good lacing. The taste is alcoholic. Quite a bit of bitterness in the end. A rather short finish. Decent. msante79 (859), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2010 Bomber from Orland Park Binny’s. Pours dark amberish brown with thick tan head. Aromas of sweet caramel and malt, PNW hops, toffee, dark fruits, and some booze. Flavors of bitter hops, toffee, caramel, malts, and some light booze. Finishes a little bitter from the hops, but also has some sweetness from caramel and toffee flavor. This one was surely leans to the west coast style of barley wine. While it is not the most complex barley wine I have had it still a pretty solid ale overall. ultracake (38), salem, Oregon, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2009 22oz bottle. Cloudy reddish- medium brown color. Light tan head. Loads of toffee and chocolate malts, very nice toasted malt aroma. Nice light hint of citrus. Like those toffee candies with orange essence you can buy during the Christmas Holidays. Flavor of rich caramel malt. Lots of em. A nice body of toasted malts with a hint of nuttiness. Bold PNW hops character. Lots of grapefruit and big bold hop bitterness. This beer has aged very well, it is at least two and a half years old. Very strrong as well.
