COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our American-style Barleywine undergoes a three hour boil to intesify the caramel malts and the enormous Pacific Northwest hop charge. The result is a rich, estery brew with toffee notes and citrus hop flavors layered throughout. Enjoy this brew fresh today or lay it down for aging to see how the flavors of each vintage evolve.

Bottle @ Brewdog, Edinburgh. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose is rich in toffee and oranges. The taste is more oranges, perhaps chocolate orange but probably closer to honeycomb. The palate has a really big structure with a big tangy texture, but somehow it manages to finish quite elegantly. Overall, a lovely beer.

650 ml bottle. Pours a mahogany color with little head. Aromas of toffee and sweet malts. Flavors of brown sugar, toasted malts, light resin, and light citrus. ABV quite noticeable and lingering.

Bomber purchased at Central City Liquor Store in Surrey. Plenty of tan froth on this one. Dark amber in color. Nose is bitter and astringent. Bitter hops with malt background in the mouth. Long bitter finish. Flavors seem quite muted overall. I’ll throw a stopper in it and put it back in the fridge for a few hours or a few days. We shall see.

Bomber bottle x 2. Aroma has that signature barley wine smell with more hops thrown in. The appearance is a murky brown with a lasting tan head. The taste is a lot of hops followed by a muted barley wine flavor. Palate is hoppy, of course. Overall, a good barley wine and good showing from green flash. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 1 Pt 6 Fl Oz bottle on 13/5/2013 (2012 vintage). Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium to big head. Has a surprisingly subtle aroma of toffee, fruit and just a hint of alcohol. By comparison, the experience in the mouth is far more full on, and quite special. There’s lots of sweet toffee and caramel malt in the foreground, with some dark fruit (prunes and dates) as well. But it’s the hops that are the cornerstone here - a big resiny, lingering bitterness with a good dose of grapefruit keeps the sweet stuff in n check. It’s towards the syrupy end in texture and the carbonation is a little higher than normal for the style. Presents as a very big beer, yet I found myself able to down it with dangerous speed. A fabulous barley wine.

Pours dark copper with a large, slowly fading head. Hoppy aroma, but with a fair bit of malt noticeable underneath. Grapefruit, resinous hops, spicy notes, caramel, bready malt. Pretty hoppy aggressive flavours. Very sharp pine and grapefruit with accompanying massive bitterness alongside some bready malt. Thick syrupy body.

A - Pours a deep red amber with a giant rocky tan head that creates craters while finally sinking into a 1/4 inch ceiling. Thick 3D lines of sticky lacing. S - Caramel and toffee malts. Very doughy yeast with banana esters as well as cherries, spiced bread, and sharp anise. Bright citrus hops smell fresh and meld perfect with the breadiness. T - Toasted toffee and marshmallow. Brown sugar, dark bread and amaretto cherry. Hops play more of a bittering role as the toffee malt drowns out alot of the hop flavor. Hints of sassafras remind me of root beer. Finish start sweets and ends bitter. M - Full bodied, moderate carbonation, chewy at times. Very good looking brew. Fresh citrus hops in the nose. Full on toffee bomb. Extremely balanced, especially a semi fresh one from the west coast. Serving type: bottle 02-21-2011

Red color. Great crown of lace, nice slushy head. Hefty hop aroma. Incredibly balanced with some sweet malts. The taste is pure sweet barley, sugary but not saccharine. Touches of cherry, raisin and dates. Chunky feel. Really outstanding.

2012 bomber to a . Color is a brownish amber with yellow highlights and a medium off-white head. Aroma is toffee with some herbal hops and some fig. The herbal hops comes through strong in the taste with some alcohol and a little sweetness. The malt is detectable but not strong. Bitterness builds on the tongue. Medium mouthfeel and dryness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
