3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 kmeves (1098) - Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 14, 2010Pours a deep amber orange with a large tannish head that slowly reduces itself to a film. Big piney, caramel, citrusy, resiny charge hits the nose initially and remains pretty much throughout. Flavor is a big carmelly sweet blast up front followed shortly by nice bitterness on the back of the toungue. Very full bodied, soft carbonation, very sticky and resiny texture. I have yet to be disappointed with a beer from Green Flash, well done!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 Maris (745) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - MAY 13, 2013
From a 1 Pt 6 Fl Oz bottle on 13/5/2013 (2012 vintage). Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium to big head. Has a surprisingly subtle aroma of toffee, fruit and just a hint of alcohol. By comparison, the experience in the mouth is far more full on, and quite special. There’s lots of sweet toffee and caramel malt in the foreground, with some dark fruit (prunes and dates) as well. But it’s the hops that are the cornerstone here - a big resiny, lingering bitterness with a good dose of grapefruit keeps the sweet stuff in n check. It’s towards the syrupy end in texture and the carbonation is a little higher than normal for the style. Presents as a very big beer, yet I found myself able to down it with dangerous speed. A fabulous barley wine.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Davros (1473) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 9, 2013
Pours dark copper with a large, slowly fading head.
Hoppy aroma, but with a fair bit of malt noticeable underneath. Grapefruit, resinous hops, spicy notes, caramel, bready malt.
Pretty hoppy aggressive flavours. Very sharp pine and grapefruit with accompanying massive bitterness alongside some bready malt. Thick syrupy body.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 OKplus (355) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 6, 2013
A - Pours a deep red amber with a giant rocky tan head that creates craters while finally sinking into a 1/4 inch ceiling. Thick 3D lines of sticky lacing.
S - Caramel and toffee malts. Very doughy yeast with banana esters as well as cherries, spiced bread, and sharp anise. Bright citrus hops smell fresh and meld perfect with the breadiness.
T - Toasted toffee and marshmallow. Brown sugar, dark bread and amaretto cherry. Hops play more of a bittering role as the toffee malt drowns out alot of the hop flavor. Hints of sassafras remind me of root beer. Finish start sweets and ends bitter.
M - Full bodied, moderate carbonation, chewy at times.
Very good looking brew. Fresh citrus hops in the nose. Full on toffee bomb. Extremely balanced, especially a semi fresh one from the west coast.

Red color. Great crown of lace, nice slushy head.
Hefty hop aroma. Incredibly balanced with some sweet malts.
The taste is pure sweet barley, sugary but not saccharine. Touches of cherry, raisin and dates.
Chunky feel. Really outstanding.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 kambei70 (302) - - APR 24, 2013
2012 bomber to a . Color is a brownish amber with yellow highlights and a medium off-white head. Aroma is toffee with some herbal hops and some fig. The herbal hops comes through strong in the taste with some alcohol and a little sweetness. The malt is detectable but not strong. Bitterness builds on the tongue. Medium mouthfeel and dryness.

Pours a chestnut color with a decent head that settles to a film and has good lacing. Aroma of toffee and fruits like figs. Taste is initially sweet with a medium bitter and spiciness from the alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium and is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Could benefit from some aging to drop some of the hops out and bring other flavors to the fore.

Pours a dark blood red. Tight amber head. Notes of maple syrup, plum, dark cherries, and alcohol dominate the aroma. Taste follows through with the scent with a touch of hops at the back end. Great.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 crossovert (4525) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 17, 2013
2013 Vintage. Pours a clear cognac color with a frothy off whtie head that dissipates with nice lacing. Smell is concentrated citrus, sweet flavored candy canes, bread, and more sugar. Smell is so sugary. The flavor is more balanced. Good pnw hop body, medium to low bitterness, solid bread backbone, fruit esters, candy canes again along with boozy caramel. I like the depth of breadiness in the malt bill but the candylike delivery could be improved.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BoringBard (99) - NORWAY - APR 11, 2013
Dark amber with medium white head. Aroma of hops and caramelmalt. Very strong hops taste. Lacks a little of the malty, round and thick feel i was hoping for. Thin but very long lasting flavour of hops. Leaves your tongue dry. Overall good and strong but lacks a little complexity.
