Pours a hazy, dark copper brown. A tad syrupy and woody. Strong palate, somewhat off putting but not undrinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 22 oz. bottle after cellaring for over 22 months.
Murky, dark copper with a 3-finger khaki head and very good lacing.
Aroma of caramel, booze, citrus, pine resin, orange and bread.
Taste of citrus, pine resin, caramel, toffee, whiskey, floral hops and plums.
Full body high/medium carbonization.
This is a big beer. The hops, alcohol and maltiness all come through strongly even after nearly 2 years of aging.

toffee (surprising given their rep for hoppy beers). Theres more hops in the nose than the flavor. This was the newest batch but tasted as if it had a year or so of age on it. Nice warming finish, and complex. Very good, but not one of the best."

pretty damn impressive looking. had a dirt brown thing goin on in tha color dept. kinda smelled like dirt and malts, like the dirt floor in the basement of a barn. I was pretty damn impressed at the body as it was full and malty and even nutty. very subtle for the amount of alcohol in it. i give it respect

65 cl. bottle - 2012 "Vintage" - poured in to a Snifter. Slightly hazy amber colour with orange hues. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, resin, oranges, lightly toasted malts - the richness is balanced by grapefruit and citrus hops. Some alcohol. Taste is sweet - and well balanced - the best feature for this beer. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Long lasting drying finish with rich malts, toast and fruits. Pretty straightforward American Barley Wine.

Vintage 2012. Pours dark amber with a big white head. Aroma is heavy sweet with notes of hops, caramel and light alchool. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, hoppy, dry fruits. A bit different from your usual barleywine.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Barwa mocnej herbaty. Piana solidna i trwała. Cudowny aromat: cytrusy, iglaki, kwiaty, maliny, owoce, kremowe nadzienie waniliowe z wafelków, kiwi. W smaku silne nuty ziołowe, lekkie igły sosnowe i cytrusy, przypalony karmel, owocowy miks. Silna goryczka, dobrze równoważy się z likierową słodyczą. Piwo bardzo gęste, likierowe, mocno rozgrzewające.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: SEP 29, 2014 Californian barley wine with a big hop dosis, making it somewhat akin to the famed West Coast IPAs. Yellowish white, regular, stable head, colour an orangey bronze, hazy. Complexely and attractively perfumed aroma of honey, madera, chocolate, sweet tobacco, tonic water, grapefruit peel, pineapple, white pepper, papaja... One of those delightful aromas I could sniff for hours. Exotic fruits in the mouth, citrus peel, soft and very agreeable nutty malts, spicy, peppery and resinous hoppiness in the finish, drying, cloying in a pleasant way, with a warming, brandy-like alcohol effect as any good barley wine should have. Very American in style and very enjoyable; I have no doubts that this has a great ageing potential too.
