Pours a dark black with very light tan head. Super roasted malt and coffee to the nose. Dark chocolate and bitter hops to taste. Good but not great.

Best beer to have with some type of red meat yet! I love that it is roasty and delicious.

Dark brown-black hue with mostly dissipating tan head. Nose is mostly coffee with hints of vanilla and roast. Flavor is coffee malts with a tinge of milk chocolate, vanilla, grass, cherries, Belgian yeast and Candi, finishes on the sweeter Belgian side. Medium-full body, creamy smooth texture, mild carbonation. A balanced roasty coffee stout balanced out with sweet fruits and Belgian characteristics, delcious and easy drinking.

Very nice coffee chocolate heavy aroma. The taste is similar and pleasantly dry for a double stout

Served on tap at PB Tap Room. The appearance is a rich warm dark brown. The aromas and flavors are heavily dominated by the Trappist yeasts, still the nice chocolate and roasted flavors from the regular Double Stout. It is a decent beer but just not the way I prefer my stouts.

Seemed like a standard sort of stout. Shared Ron’s bottle, thanks Ron! Dark pour, normal head, tan. Dark chocolate nose with some toasted notes. Very rich palate, oily, chocolate malt, nicely integrated with the hops and balanced. Good stuff.

Draft at PP Carlsbad. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Chocolate, fruit, citrus, roasted malt, and smoke. Hints of spice. Interesting beer.. good, but I don’t think I good drink a lot of this.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Chocolate malt nose. Medium bodied stout with some interesting flavors. A bit smoky with roasted malts chocolate and a belgian yeast. Good but a bit jarbled.

Draught at Blind Tiger. Brownish black with no head. Aroma is boozy (almost bourbon) roasted malts, very faint Belgian influence, smells more barrel aged than Belgian. Taste is boozy bourbonish going more Belgian at back end. Big bitter finish. OK, not much to get excited about.

A: The pour is a dark brown color with a thin tan head on top. S: The nose is lightly roasty with a surprising amount of sweet malt and some yeasty esters, namely bananas. T: The roast is more pronounced in the flavor along with some coffee and chocolate and some sweet banana flavor. Surprisingly, this works amazingly well together. M: The body is medium with a smooth and creamy feel on the tongue. D: This is easily one of my new favorites from Green Flash. A great combination of traditional stout and Belgian yeast flavors.
