3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: The pour is a dark brown color with a thin tan head on top.
S: The nose is lightly roasty with a surprising amount of sweet malt and some yeasty esters, namely bananas.
T: The roast is more pronounced in the flavor along with some coffee and chocolate and some sweet banana flavor. Surprisingly, this works amazingly well together.
M: The body is medium with a smooth and creamy feel on the tongue.
D: This is easily one of my new favorites from Green Flash. A great combination of traditional stout and Belgian yeast flavors.

Tap at Mugs Alehouse. Deep brown-black pour. The nose is quite intense. A bit of spice and a touch of bourbon-like vanilla character. Very vineous with a touch of light tartness. Dry and roasty on the back with a bit of barrel-aged contribution. There is a bit of fruity spiciness on the back with a bit of plumminess and even a bit of banana. Itís a strange beast and it doesnít quite work for me.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. The aroma has a light roast, fruity esters, almond and vanilla. The flavor has fuity, almost banana like notes, a light roast, and an almond like nuttiness. Strange, but it worked for me.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at RNH. Pours a deep dark black with a nice lasting tan head. Aroma is nutty, earthy, dark chocolate and lots of roast, with just light earthy and peppery hints of belgian yeast- some licorice and minty grassy, piny and light citrus hops as well. Flavor is big oily chocolate malts, licorice and anise, toffee and molasses sweetness and some leathery earthy yeasty notes, mildly phenolic dry roasty and earthy with a decent hop kick. Pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Hamiltonís. Poured an opaque black color with a brown head. Smelled of dark chocolate and coffee. The flavor was similar. I didnít get much in the way of spice from the Belgian yeast, but maybe it was drowned out by all the roast. Medium to full bodied and slightly sweet. All in all, pretty good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: Draft at RnH, 4/2/10
Aroma: Nose has some coffee, Belgian yeast, spice, roasted malts, and some pine/citrus hops
Appearance: Dark brown pour with a tan head
Flavor: Taste is sweet and roasted malts, spice, and a pine hop bitterness as well
Palate: A touch thin for the style, smooth and creamy mouthfeel
This was a pretty interesting beer. Not exactly stout-like, but still quite interesting. A good mix of flavors that seem to work pretty well together.
