Bigmmartin (276), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2009 Golden orange with a white head. Flavor is yeast, fruit, and some spices. Typical of the Tripel style. Not bad, but I don’t really care for Tripels. TampaBrew (302), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 7, 2009 Poured a hazy yellow. Spicy belgian yeast aroma. Some clove, bread, biscuit, honey and grassiness. Flavor was much of the same. Mouthfeel was nice, fuller than expected. Nice trippel. HOPSHUNTER (225), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 4, 2009 Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy orange color with a tall white head. Aroma is slightly spicy, slightly yeasty with hints of caramel and coriander. Medium bodied and highly carbonated. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, yeast, and spice. Finish is lightly bitter with tongue prickling alcohol. ben4321 (562), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 1, 2009 Location: 22 oz bottle from Westover Market, split it with a friend on 5/29/09
Aroma: A nice, strong fruity nose, some apple, orange, a little honey, a little but bready as well
Appearance: Orange color, think creamy head
Flavor: Flavor is similar to the nose
Palate: A nice medium to full body, drinks nicely, hides the alcohol pretty well
Overall Impression:
A pretty nice example of the Tripel, flavor works pretty well. Nicely done American take on this Belgian style. hellbilly (1295), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA May 27, 2009 on tap at papago...
hazy brown tinted golden color with a soft white head and drippy lacing.
some sort of fruit lingers in the aroma which i can’t identify... it mixes with pale malt, bready yeast, some spice, flowers and grass.
something familiarly candi-like shows up in the flavor... sort of like a cross between bubblegum and sweet tarts.... along with that are notes of bready yeast, toast, honey, peach blossoms, orange peel, warm spices and a softly bitter finish.
the body is on the fuller side of medium while the mouth feel is very rich and soft. unconventional. lacks some depth but decent enough... 7/4/7/4/15/3.7 Pawola22 (509), Kansas City, Missouri, USA May 24, 2009 On tap at the brewery in Vista. Pours a hazy yellow-orange body with a thin, creamy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a soft lacing. Aroma is spicy, yeast, and has lots of rich, bready malts. Some honey, candi sugar, and somewhat sour apple-melon. Flavor is similar in the rich, bready malts, but has more of a noticeable spicy hop bite. Sweet Belgian yeast fruitiness, crisp honey, and some zesty spicing. Finishes dry with a malty and soft hoppy bitterness. Palate is light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid trippel. I like the extra spicy hop taste and rich malts. Slighty different than most, which was nice. 0o9i (301), Reno, Nevada, USA May 24, 2009 Bomber. The hazy, orange-hued body of straw sparkles, topped with a small, tenacious head that leaves some lace. The aroma smells sweetly of light and dark fruits, molasses (huh?), musk, a light touch of honey and some faint spiciness. This beer is medium-bodied with plentiful, pleasant carbonation that diminishes 3/4 through the pint for a definitively watery-but-fine finish. The flavor is fruity like white wine--slightly sour, dark fruits, a light spiciness, pleasant esters, honey, alcoholic warmth, citrus and a very subtle, spicy-hop finish with some woodiness and a touch of roastiness--long-lasting and dry. Very drinkable, yet unconventional. can8ianben (818), Pasadena, California, USA May 10, 2009 Really interesting in that it has a lot of west coast pale ale characteristics, but is also full bodied enough and has a complex Belgian yeast to make it unlike most beers out there.
Sampled at 2009 LA Craft Beer Fest.
