4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On cask at Stone’s Green Flash takeover. Pours black with a super long lasting tan, foamy head. Aroma of bourbon, chocolate, oak, vanilla and roasted malt. Flavors are about the same with the sweetness being cut back with the booze and dry roasted malt. Medium to full body with mild carbonation and an slick, oily mouth feel. Great beer from Green Flash, about as much oak and bourbon as I like while still letting the amazing base beer shine.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Whiskey, vanilla, woody aroma. Straight up black in color. Caramel and irsh cream notes over the vanilla/woody/whiskey tinged stout. Seriously well, balanced...one of the most rounded beers Ive had.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This was a standout for me from GABF a few years ago and I sought it out in ’10 to see if it was still as good as I remember....it delivered. Bourbon barrel stout is almost cliched these days but this one is still one of the best in my book. Terrific opaque full bodied plush stout big enough to stand up to the bourbon. Strong bourbon notes without overwhelming or watering down the stout...not something everybody pulls off. This beer is a partnership of the two with neither taking the lead.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at GABF! Dark mahogany pour with hints of black at its thickest spot. Aroma of smoke, ash, bourbon, cocoa, and bitter coffee. Flavor similar although the bourbon is a bit forward. Medium mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent offering, well worth the money and i’d possibly get it again. Just didn’t knock my socks off. i like the plain stout more. this one was just beaten to shit by the bourbon. hot nose, thin body, didnt do the base beer justice.
