4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap @ Hamilton’s Tavern. Seriously, one of the top 10 beers I’ve ever had. Pours a deep brown almost black with a big tan head. Tons of bourbon, chocolate and toffee on the nose. Flavor held bourbon with some coffee and chocolate.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
On cask at Fourth Avenue Pub. Black with typical big bubble cask brown head. Rich aroma of chocolate roasted coffee earth wood. Rich roasted chocolate coffee woodsy earthy licorice flavors with medium hop bitterness. Smooth excellent cask mouthfeel. Full body and low carbo. Rich, complex, and delicious. Excellent.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at GABF ’08. I love their double stout, it’s wayyy underrated...and this just added another great nuance to an already beautiful beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at the 2008 Great American Beer Festival. I was stoked to see this beer on tap. Pitch black with some faint beige lace. Robust roast aroma with a smooth bourbon vanilla undertone. Very mellow character that slides easily across the palate. Oak wood is noticeable in the finish. Very nice.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I got to try 3 BA imperial stouts today. GF, CBC, and BA Yeti. They are all different and good in their own way. The GF was mellowed, black. Thick tan head. Some buttery oak smell. Very nice super easy to drink. My highest rated of the three.

On tap at Hamilton’s 2nd Anniversary party. Pours with a black body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing left behind. It’s sweet and full of vanilla bourbon notes with a hint of roast in the background. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Tap @ Hamiltonís during their 2nd anniversary party. Shared with weeobese, darkelf, and wetherel. Pours black with a tan head. Nose is super sweet and overall very very nice. Taste is sweet with chocolate notes, this is a fantastic version of this brew.
