COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Citra Session™ IPA is brewed with high-quality Marris Otter and Vienna malt but the flavor is dominated by the Citra hops introduced throughout the boil and again in the dry hop for maximum aroma intensity. Notes of lemon, orange and grapefruit make this hop-laden brew a perfectly potable summer session IPA.

Visual: Pours clear golden amber with a small creamy head, a thin layer of micro retention, lots of slow and steady streams. Nose: bright lemon-orange-pine with some pineapple, quite fruity. (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: crisp bite, citrus hop oils Mid-palate: (lvl-4)-sweetness, (MAIN) resin, barley malt, orange-grapefruit peel, -> transitions to dry, fizzy-light creamy mouthfeel Finish: grapefruit bitter hops, lingering hopped bitter finish. Summary: My first "session" IPA, basically lots of hop flavour with a much slower alcoholic buzz. Okay I guess, goes better with a meal. Unfortunately the citrus oils disappear as the beer warms, leaving only the bitterness behind.

Bottled. Pours pale yellow with a small white head. Smells smoky, lemongrass, stale hoppy. Tastes very bitter, spicy and a bit hoppy with a similar finish.

Bottle at The Rover, Göteborg. Clear pale golden beer with a rich lasting offwhite head. Hoppy citrus aroma, grassy, pine, hay, peach notes. Hoppy hay flavor, grassy, hay, metal notes. A bit sharp, not a totally fresh bottle I guess.

Expensive bottle at the Christmas Day dining table. Slim-capped misted blonde. Big crisp beautiful Citra aromatics; pink grapefruit, tomato vine, Darjeeling, perfumed armpit and cat piddle. Lean and hop forward with zest and curry leaf over a dry nutty base. Some serious stewed greenery and celery. English mineral streaks like a struck match. A very fine Transatlantic/English-style GA.

Appreciate the ’Session IPA’ category but haven’t found a stand out. Solid addition with citrus but lacks the backbone that most in the style also have as a deficiency. So many options. A decent one...but many are.

Bomber from CBB. Pours clear gold with almost no head. Aroma has loads of grapefruit with floral and resinous notes. Flavour is bright citrus hops with a dry finish. Can’t believe there is this much flavour in only 4.5%!

Draft @ TWR. Nice aroma of citrus and grapefruit. Clear light amber color, with white head and nice lacing. Citrus flavor, nice pleasant bitterness. Medium bodied. Overall a nice, drinkable IPA. Good showcase of citra hops.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 2/4/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, mango, floral, grass, light pine, light honey, light bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, mango, floral, grass, pine, light honey, light bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine.grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, mango, pine, light honey/bread and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a godo bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an excellent session IPA style. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

ottle. Clear, golden body with a white, frothy head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, lemon, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of citrus with a lingering bitterness. Straightforward session IPA.
