Blast of lemon from this one. Pours a sparkly yellow. Very tasty and novel at first. The acidity does wear the tongue down though. In comparison to the Kern River Citra’s this is too unbalanced. My recommendation have a taster,

tons of grapefruit and heady nose. Very light mouth. Very hoppy, lots of grapefruits. A bit unbalanced, but still decent. Huge bitter finish. Packs a massive finish for 4.5%. decent but a bit over the top.

On tap at Urge for the Total Tap Takeover with BP and GF. Amber pour with white head. Nose citrus and tropical fruit hoppiness. Taste straight up bitter citrus and sharp pale ale. Kind of a skunky IPA thing going on. Good, but far from the best of the night.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber gold with a pillowy white head. Leaves behind lots of lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit, tangerine, orange and plenty of it from a mile away.
Taste: Grapefruit, English toffee like malt, finishes fruity with lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: A little astringent, medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: Magnificent, highly drinkable, super tasty and inviting. Great job.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2011 Pint glass at Urge. Pours a translucent copper color with a medium off-white head that soon recedes to a fine film and shows some minor lacing. The aroma is strong with oranges, dank herbs and grapefruit. The taste is a big blast of hoppy citrus, lots of grapefruit, spices and some resins set in a good caramel malt backdrop. The palate is light but effective, and the carbonation is medium. Finishes long and biter. Overall: good shit, me likey.

If I’m digging my mitts into an ice chest, attempting to feverishly recover a bottle of brew as if it was a drowning sailor, I’m going to pick up something by Green Flash. Will it necessarily be this session ale? Probably not. This particular GF brew doesn’t seem to be minted by the same press as some of this breweries other offerings. There is some leafy qualities, some rustic undertones, and a lazy bite - almost like a half-sedated canine - when it hits your tongue. Okay, but not something to go out of your way for.

Draught at Thrash Zone. Copper color with no head. Nice citrus aroma, grassy—nice hops. Smooth, hoppy flavor with low malts. Very drinkable but not all that memorable. A decent session beer.

Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of strong citra, citrus, tropical fruits, melon, pine, and floral hops. Taste of tropical fruits, citrus, toasted malts, light sweetness, and a bitter hoppy finish.
