Test vom 20.9.2010, Gebinde: Glasflasche

Draft @ BT. Black pour with ran head. Aroma of roasted coffee and some sweeter malts. Flavor is extremely roast, like drinking coffee rounds, in a good way.

Bottle that Craig very kindly picked up for me at GBBF, Thanks Craig. Consumed 05.09.10 Pours black with a tan head. This is silky smooth in the mouth with creamy coffee, a nice hoppiness and a lovely warmth from the well integrated alcohol. Rich and full flavoured, but easy drinking there is a bit of bitterness there, but the coffee lingers. lovely stuf. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

(on tap at brewery). One of the guys working at GF said this beer has been hit and miss and when I was there it was a hit. I couldn’t agree more. Poured black with caramel head. Aroma was of a cold coffee drink-I could smell the sweetness and it even had notes of milk. Awesome!! Taste was sweet with some dry bitterness/hoppiness. Full bodied with bitter finish. Excellent coffee stout that had a beautiful balance between bitterness and sweetness.

Tap at Rattle N Hum. Deep black pour with a thick, sticky white head. The nose is really quite lovely. Lots of big roasty malt character. A thick unctuous palate and a lot of lingering earthy/dusty character towards the finish. I don’t really get a whole lot of coffee per se, but there is a touch of light coffeeish roastiness. Quite herbal and chewy with a touch of thick dark malt and a tongue-coating malt character. Cocoa and herbal character with a bit of dark fruitiness on the finish. If the label didn’t say "coffee stout" I wouldn’t have picked it out, but it’s a damn fine beer nonetheless.

Draught at Blind Tiger. Brownish black with medium tan head. Aroma of big earthy hops, obvious coffee, light bitter chocolate, roasty character. Taste is huge earthiness, almost dirt-like (reminiscent of KSB), also prevalent coffee bitterness in finish. Very lively on palate, good carbonation. Really good, I dig!
