Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bomber. Pours thick and very dark brown, opaque, with a medium-sized dark brown head. Aromas of roasted coffee and cocoa, milk chocolate, molasses, raisin, and slight wood. Bitter roasty cocoa flavor, espresso, bitter chocolate, and vanilla. Long, bitter mocha finish. Low/medium carbonation, creamy, rich, and dry. Very nice; rich, smooth, and well-balanced.

Great color, burnt coffee and toffee highlight up front. The chocolate comes out nicely as it warms up.

650 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pannuhuone. Rated @ 23.7.2010.
Pours a deep black colour with a frothy creamy head. Moderate malty on the nose with roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. Very rich. Heavy flavour which fills the mouth with hoppiness, sweetness, citrus and dark chocolate. Full bodied, creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. This would be a nice dessert.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2011 Bottle: Thanks to Milan. Big brown slow disappearing foamy head. Color is just black. Smell a lot of roasted malts, wood, coffee and liquorice. Taste a deep dark stout: lots of coffee, roasted ingredients/malts, liquorice, whiskeywood, hints of spices and dark fruits. Bit light and watery at first, but the next second the taste changes for 200% into a deep and dark stout with the complexity of an imperial stout. A long bitter coffee aftertaste. One of the best stouts out there.

Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Black, thick beige head. Sour stout aorma. Good espresso flavour and slightly harsh choc on the swallow. Some sour. But good sweetness too. Bizarre.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2011 Bomber: Pours the darkest and reddest of ruby which can only be seen with bright light under a slowly diminishing fluffy tan head. Huge dark chocolate aroma with brown sugar, dark fruits, and some hay. Starts bitter and ends bitterer with an ending of coffee and sour chocolate. Slick bodied with mellow carbonation.

No joke this is one of the finest (Double) Stout’s out there. Perfect taste and aroma; drinkability is off the charts. A must try if you can get your hands on it.

I don’t know how I missed this one. Dark as night pour, flurry two finger head and lacing all over the glass. Chocolatey aroma. Strong flavor of chocolate was the backbone of this stout and the creaminess of this was phenomenal. Some fruitiness and pine-like hops rounded out the brazen flavor. This is really good.
