COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Appearance- nice moderate foamy mocha latte head that lasted a good bit, but left very little lacing. Very, very dark/opaque (zero light getting through) black/brown. Outstanding. Smell- coffee, toasted malt, caramel. A little cocoa. Taste- coffee, dark chocolate. Starts off bitter, gets a little sweet in the middle, then the bitterness kicks in (again) on the finish. Very good. Mouthfeel- big, full body. Smooth and creamy. Overall- excellent!!! A super stout. Another great beer from Green Flash. Will be having again and would highly recommend. Cheers!

Cocoa and dark chocolate aroma. Almost has a bourbon aroma in there too? Taste is cocoa, chocolate, and some vanilla oakyness with slight sweetness to it that makes me think bourbon. Even though it it not an aged stout I still get that. Finishes bitter and mostly dry for a stout so strong. Maybe I would say a semi sweet finish. Really a great imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good stuff in all categories however it kind of falls behind in aroma. While the familiar aromas are there and very pronounced I sense nothing new. So in that sense it lacks.

Aroma is hoppier than most stouts. I was expecting that from Green Flash. It also has some raisin, plum, booze and an earthy scent. Appearance is black with an off-white clingy ring of foam. Taste is roasty, hoppy, not very complex but good. Palate was disappointing. Way more watery than a 99 rated imperial stout should be. Overall good but not great. Might buy again, won’t go out of my way to look for it.

Buona birra.

Bottle from The Warehouse. Pours dark black with tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. Tastes of dark fruits, chocolate, coffee and slightly bitter hops. Heavy bodied with minimal carbonation. Very good.

Not too bad. I’m not exactly sure what a double stout is. Smooth, dark, chocolate, not too roasted. Higher alcohol was covered. Sweet. Medium-heavy body. Light on the carbonation.
