4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Complex aroma of dark fruits, deep, roasted chocolate and coffee notes, a bit of vanilla and sweet caramel malts. Appearance is black, with a thick brown head, with great retention and lacing. The taste is strong, deeply roasted coffee. Dark fruits. Surprisingly bitter, leaves a bit of a bite on the tongue. Bitterness distracts a little bit more than I’d like. Palate is thick, and sticky, and really remains on the tongue for the aftertaste. Overall this is a sensational stout with great balance.

My final beer with dinner. My palate in shock from the previous Le Freak. Dark as midnight, excellent head and lacing. Medium mouthfeel but so much coffee. High ABV@8.8%, this is to Guinness as a Grizzly Bear is to Bambi. Not a lawn mower style. I only wish I ordered a chocolate dessert.

Green Flash Double STOUT, has the aroma, taste and feel that an excellent stout should have. This is no Guinness! I went and toured the beautiful Dublin Guinness Storehouse this summer and drank their watered down, beer for the ignorant tasteless McDonald myopic masses. Yuck! Green Flash Double STOUT is the absolute opposite! If you want a big beer 9%, with great aroma, huge taste, smooth feel and clear complexity ... then look no further. I would rather buy one Green Flash Double STOUT than a 12 Guinness draft in the Dublin Guinness Storehouse. By the way, I travel a lot and NO WHERE in world, Prague, Berlin, Brussels, etc. can compete with US Craft Brews! We are changing the world from bland Light and Dark Lagers to incredible tasting ales, all because of the advancement of brewing technologies, and clean yeast strains. For those in the know regarding craft brews the US is famous, and I am not very patriotic or hold to our US foreign policies.
Bottom line: You have not tasted a good stout until you have tasted Green Flash Double STOUT!
Can’t wait to drink it after a day of skiing.
