Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Pitch black with soft tan head. Nose of smooth roasted malt, deep, bitter chocolate, and faint pine hopping. Flavor is more of the same with dark chocolate, light coffee/roasted malt and a background hop bitterness to keep everything balanced. Lingering bitter chocolate and roast. Low acidity. medium+ mouthfeel.

Bottle. Black colour, with an enormous brownish head that last for long good while and leaves a milky lace. My first thouhgt was "What’s that horrible smell? It’s like smelling ink. Now, just leave it aside for a while and it opens to chocolate, vanilla, coffee, liquorice, raisins, brandy... and milk. A really creamy palate, plus a medium to full body makes you really enjoy it. Taste is as smell: milk chocolate, vanilla, raisins, brandy, coffee. Really great.

pours clear very dark brown, almost black, with a persistent creamy dark crema-looking head, nice lacing too. tons of roasted and charred malts, lightly burnt notes, smokiness, coffee, dark chocolate, few dark red berries, resinous and coniferous hoppiness, licorice and bitter herbs. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and quite creamy mouthfeel, moderate sweetness, bold yet not harsh bitter coffee-resinous finish. relatively simple. utterly effective. tasty. charred. torrefied.

Bottle pour to shaker. Opaque, black cola appearance. Thin head. Complex taste: coffee, chocolate, roast malt. Sweet finish.

Smells malty, chocolate like and herbaceous. Thin light brown head, black liquid. Tastes of burnt malt, chocolate, alcohol, black currant, walnut. Rich body, nice carbonation, bitter slightly chalky finish. The flavour profile is complex, but not overly amazing. The burnt flavour is too powerful and the chalky finish reduces the overall flavour of the beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick black color with a very brief tan head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is of roasted malt, vanilla, coffee, brandy, licorice and coffee...very interesting. Full bodied, all of the aromas appear in the taste. Sweet finish. Great beer!

This, this is a good beer. So far, it's my favorite from Green Flash. This is a big beer. About as dark as you can get. Very malty with a very thick head. The malts and oats balance well with each other and finishes strong on the back of the throat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
