3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very dark with big frothy mocha head and lacing. Smells roasty and caramelly plus a hint of coffee and perhaps a hint of herbaceousness. Very sweet flavor plus creamy mouthfeel. Reminds me of a caramel latte.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Desesperatly black beer, tenacious mocha and lacing foam. With aromas of coffee, chocolate and a hint of smoke, this beautiful Stout is of a malted wealth with greedy hints of licorice, cocoa powder, raisin-prune, earthy hop which breads of roasting.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured into an English Pint glass. Color is black with a moderately sized mocha colored head. Aroma is primarily roasted malts, but also has some notes of dark fruit and molasses. Flavor is very roast forward with a lot of milk chocolate, some coffee, and a nice hop bitterness on the finish. Palate is fairly smooth from the oat base, but also has some astringency due to the hops. Overall this a nicely done stout - while none of the flavors are extremely strong or overpowering, I felt this had a larger hop presence than most stouts, which was a nice change.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: jet black with thick mocha colored head. Aroma: Definite milk chocolate, nutty, roasty, and subtle coffee notes. Taste: a nice smooth nutty, chocolately taste with touches of coffee and some dark fruit/raisin and ending with a very nice hop bitterness and lingering light malt sweetness. Mouthfeel: light to medium body, little carbonation. Overall: Nothing outstanding, but just a very smooth, pleasant tasting beer. Not as complex as I’d like. Would love to try on tap.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2014 The may be one of the most drinkable <8% stouts I’ve had. I love how dry and light it is which is not typical of a stout of this ABV. While thin and not overpowering it does not leave more to be desired. Well balanced and incredibly drinkable, love it!
