Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

12oz bottle @ Bishops Folkunga. Black with a big compact mocha brown head. Decent lace. Aroma: Roasted with coffee and bitter chocolate, sweet caramel. Some acidic ashy notes with wet burnt wood gives a dimension to the sweetness. Taste: Sweet, roasted, a bit umami with a hint of salty chocolate and soy, sweet caramel, vague hints of ripe tropical fruit mixes with the saltiness. Medium to bigger body, soft carbonation, a bit sticky texture. Very tasty, rich and american, but with more meaty umami than expected. A bit like a barrel aged stout with a dash of DIPA in it.

12oz bottle. Pours black, with almost no head. Smells of roasted and smoked malts, with lots of soy sauce. Tastes of smoky, salty, sweet malt, with a medium bitterness that lasts. Medium bodied, flat carbonation, oily texture. Finishes dry and bitter.

Black as night, even under an intense light, nothing gets through. Topped with a foamy, brown head and roasted/charred aromas with a slight sour edge. The body is slightly creamy, but the strong char flavor adds astringency to cut through it. Bittersweet and dark chocolate hit first followed by a molasses sweetness mixed with a little vanilla then finishing with a dry cocoa aftertaste. The balance between sweet and bitter is very well done here especially since both are in abundance. Leaves behind lingering chocolate flavors and a slight vegetal bitterness. 8.8% ABV? Where’s it hiding? Dangerously delicious stout.

This is a manly beer. I can feel the hair growing on my chest. Thick and DARK brown, this one has the roasty malty goodness reminiscent of coffee. Pours with a small, but brown head, everything is awesome about this beer. I love it.

I was totally blown away by this mellow flavorful double stout. Since it's a Green Flash beer I expected to be knocked on my ass by An intense beer, but I'm floored by all the subtle nuances this brew offers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich coffee nose on this dark brown beer with cola head. Collapses to a lacing. Thick molten chocolate in the body with a rich and roasted barley finish. Warming alcohol lingers at back of throat

Was certainly pleased to find this one at the local shop! Pours black, with a creamy tan head that dissipates into a mocha-colored film. Pretty. Burnt toffee, marshmallow creme, and dark roasted malts on the nose. Big, smooth flavor mirrors the aroma, with a slight nuttiness and a weak hop punch at the finish. Nice and smooth -- just a bit of alcohol burn -- this one is really tasty for something sold in a sixer.

Darkness, beige head not so long, smells coffee, choc bit caramel, and the alcohol is perceived, in the mouth nice full body, sharpy same coffee and choc as smell ending with sweetness and the Hoppy of a imperial
