COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex Ė Double Stout.

Black pour, big mocha head. Aroma is very very roasty. Some soy sauce, and coffee are also present. Chewy mouth feel, low carb. The finish is light on the bitter approaching a medium swetness. Loads of cocoa powder, and sweet espresso in the finish. The aftertaste lof dark burnt malts and sweet espresso linger forever. Great stout !

Big dark brown, almost black, lasting head, keeps growing after Iíve finished pouring. Opaque black body. Smooth roasty minty aroma with chocolatey floral notes. Dry-sweet roasty chocolatey taste with earthy licorice notes. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dry roasty chocolatey burnt aftertaste with minty resiny wooden notes. Lovely! Highly drinkable, complex, full of flavour, and yet very harmonic. (0.65l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Dark, dark brew, the room grew dimmer when I opened the bottle. Used motor oil colored with a tiny thin light brown head. Wonderful scent of this mornings coffee grounds and unsweetened baking chocolate with a hint of slightly burnt toast and even more subtle traces of toffee. Wow, so many flavors going on at once, where to start? Thick and chewy, great feel, coats the mouth without being cloying. I am digging this beer! Sweet roasted malts in the lead but loads of supporting cast members, prunes, mineral salt, caramel, tannins...just so much going on here. A very well made and complex beer with layer upon layer of goodness!

Pours a clear but opaque black with a big brown head amd good lacing. Big taste of roasted caramel malt and bitter chocolate. The chocolate is a compliment to the malt rather than a dominant cover (as so often happens)The finish has a nice bittering that augments rather than diminishes all that has gone before. Exceptional.

Bottle from Purvis. Masterpiece, full marks. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate, liquorice, and hints of oak. Taste is sweet and bitter, with very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Dark, with a frothy and lacey off-white head.

This stout is good. The fact that it says black ale is good. Itís not a rich, thick stout. Itís a dry, slightly hoppy, black ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap, shared with quiznoaz. The label says íDouble Stoutí and íBlack Ale.í Thatís enough to thoroughly confuse me, but Iíve never claimed to be a smart one... What do you do with a beer that has identity issues? Drink that bitch. Thatís what.

Dark body with little to no head. Smells of coffee and little bit of chocolate. Tastes follows but more on the coffee side. Solid
