COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Jet black with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Bitterness on the palate is noticeable but still restrained a bit and has a nice smoothness. Good beer, have yet to try a Green Flash that I didn’t like.

Deep and dark looking with a leathery vinegar and baking powder volcano head. Thick and chocolatey nose. Big but smooth, a hint of booziness but it is overcome by milky creaminess very quickly. It’s good, smooth and sweet.

Pours with a massive creamy head that takes a while to die down. Creaminess follows into the body. Great beer.

Dark and brown/black in color with a somewhat foamy tan and brownish head. Roasty malt flavors are well balanced with some nuttiness, a bit of coffee and chocolate, as well as caramel and toffee in there as well. Strong, but not overly so… you will not recognize the alcohol content as you sip. A respectable stout, though not as strong as some imperial varieties.

This poured a dark brown color with a lighter tan head. Aroma was dark chocolate, light coffee and lots of dark roasted malts. Flavor was very smooth, a nice balance between sweetness and roasted bitterness. Alcohol has no presence at all. Nice.

Black body with dark tan head. Chocolate notes on the nose, sharp flavours in the taste, coffee and liquorice, enjoyed this.

Bottle from kegs and barrels. This beer pours black with a medium tan head. The aromas are roasted coffee, chocolate and smoke. The mouthfeel is bitter, slightly sticky and set with a heavy body. This was a really great beer! Cheers!

On tap at Rustico. Served in a snifter. Pours a near-black color with a thin mocha head that sticks around for quite a bit and leaves some spotty lacing. Thin collar sits throughout. The nose brings a good dosing of chocolate along with some mild roast and coffee. Touch of vanilla in there as well. Some sweetness opens the taste up, followed by a mellow chocolate character and a bit of coffee and roast in the finish, creating a bit of a roasty bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy with low levels of carbonation. Finish is a bit too roasty and dry for my taste. Drinks pretty well and this is certainly something I’d order again. A pitch black colored beer, with a big foamy dark beige head. The aroma of dark fruits with coffee and roasted malts. Th taste is dry, coffee roasted malts with dark fruits and hints of chocolate. The aftertaste is dry bitter with some sweet.
