Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is lots of chocolate, roasty malt, and brown sugar. Flavor is much the same with the addition of coffee, and a good bit of hoppy bitterness.

A: pours black, dark brown around the edges when held to a light. Head was two fingers just after pour, after a while it was a thin dark brown. S: dark and roasty, a nice chocolaty sweetness almost reminds me of a milk stout in the aroma. It smells creamy. T: dark roasted malt, a creamy mix of the malt, chocolate, a little nutty, oat smoothness/sweetness. There is a nice slightly piny aftertaste. M: creamy, smooth carbonation O: no complaints, is a great stout, wish it came in sixers and not four packs.

Purchased at Hyde Park Wine & Spirits in Cincinnati, OH; enjoyed on a pleasant Friday night while my lady is out at a bachelorette party. Appearance is a thick pitch black with a very frothy dark tan head, laces to the glass, looks purdy. Aroma heavy on the chocolate and roasted malts, hint of bitterness from a coffee / hop mixture, maybe a small bit of licorice aroma in there as well, it smells good. Taste also very good, very smooth and creamy, not overtly sweet, coffee comes out a bit more in the back end mixed with the roast & chocolate, I’m not getting the ’fruity esters’ as the marketing deScription says, but it is a very good brew. Very solid.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep black with dark brown head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, peat, raisin and a hint of brown sugar. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, earth. A slight spice is detectable in the finish. A very good stout!

pours black with a thin beige head and plenty of lacing. Very warm, roasted coffee aroma. body is lacking for an imperial stout. Taste is coffee and chocolate with come cherry notes. finish is bitter chocolate and hops. decent but admittedly pedestrian Imperial Stout.

Black in color with a cola colored head. Coffee, hazelnut, & roasted malt nose. Slight licorice flavor notes. Good coffee & bitter chocolate flavors. Overall, it’s really awesome! I’ll enjoy drinking more...

This beer pours like syrup out of the bottle. Dark and creamy with a slight brown/tan head. Plenty of lacing drapes the side of glass. This beer really looks great. The aroma smells of brown sugar, molasses and roasted coffee and chocolate. Fair amount of alcohol on the nose. This beer has a surprising bitter note from the hops, yet sinfully sweet. The body is light for a stout, but its creamy texture and soft to low carbonation stand out and make this one a pleasure to take in. This beer is self-described as big, bold & complex, and while the opposite of what I prefer in women, GFDS lives up to its billing. This is already one of my top 5 if not top 3 stouts.

Bottle. This pours a very dark with red. A thick two finger tan head. The aroma is big sweet chocolate and the flavor s the same. That is supplemented by spicy and mildly bitter hops. Coffee and roasted notes emerge as the beer warms and the finish was ashy. This is somewhat complex and almost cloyingly sweet.
