COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle. This pours a very dark with red. A thick two finger tan head. The aroma is big sweet chocolate and the flavor s the same. That is supplemented by spicy and mildly bitter hops. Coffee and roasted notes emerge as the beer warms and the finish was ashy. This is somewhat complex and almost cloyingly sweet.

12 oz bottle double stout poured into my bells "snifter" pours deep brown almost black with a half inch fizzy kacki head. fairly heavily carbonated for an impy stout. nose of big notes of milk chocolate, char, roast, coca, lite husky notes from the black patent malt. flavors are roasty with lots of milk choclate which helps to sweeten this one up a bit but not go over the top. very well balanced. However, its a pretty simple beer-nothing really all that special. the palate is a bit thin and has heavy carbonation, tingle on the tongue. some lite legs with an ashy finish. Decent but not great.

Pours black. Rich malty aroma, chocolate covered coffee beans... Lots of coffee and chocolate in the mouth as well, full-bodied, viscous.. Good but not transcendent flavor.. a pleasant stout.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 Tap @ Linkery on 062011. Pours completely opaque; tiny brown head with little retention. Aroma is subtle but includes the standard chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts. Taste is more chocolate than coffee; slight presence of hops for balance. Light bodied for a stout. Good but not memorable. 6+4+8+3+16=3.7

Aroma: Roasted malt, milk chocolate, bitter dark chocolate, coffee. Faint earthy and piney hops, as well as additional earthy notes.

Taste: Huge roasted malt, espresso, bitter dark chocolate, grassy hops quite prominent for an imperial stout.

Overall: Big chocolatey nose. Big bitterness on palate. Velvety mouthfeel.

Bottle shared at Klooster. Pours black, bubbly beige head with low retention. Aroma is mild coffee, chocolate and roast malts. Flavour has same aspects but with a caramel sweetness and some licorice. Nice easy drinking, not too extreme stout.

Bomber. A black beer with an average siozed, frothy. mostly diminishing tan head. The aroma is moderately malty and lightly hoppy, with notes of roasted grain, oat, milk chocolate, with minor notes of coffee, floral. dark fruits and alcohol. The flavour is heavily sweet, lightly sour, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety/creamy texture, soft/lively carbonation, very long finish, with heavy bitterness, moderately alcoholic. The aroma is the weakest department of this stuff, it doesn’t have any off notes, but it’s not so powerful. Heavily roasted malts, to the point of being charred/burnt in the mouth, but not annoying, at least for my liking. Strongly bitter in the aftertaste. Very nice mouthfeel/structure, perhaps excessive alcoholicity for not being the biggest impy around, but that’s another minor point, Really solid.
