COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

This poured a dark brown color with a lighter tan head. Aroma was dark chocolate, light coffee and lots of dark roasted malts. Flavor was very smooth, a nice balance between sweetness and roasted bitterness. Alcohol has no presence at all. Nice.

Black body with dark tan head. Chocolate notes on the nose, sharp flavours in the taste, coffee and liquorice, enjoyed this.

Bottle from kegs and barrels. This beer pours black with a medium tan head. The aromas are roasted coffee, chocolate and smoke. The mouthfeel is bitter, slightly sticky and set with a heavy body. This was a really great beer! Cheers!

On tap at Rustico. Served in a snifter. Pours a near-black color with a thin mocha head that sticks around for quite a bit and leaves some spotty lacing. Thin collar sits throughout. The nose brings a good dosing of chocolate along with some mild roast and coffee. Touch of vanilla in there as well. Some sweetness opens the taste up, followed by a mellow chocolate character and a bit of coffee and roast in the finish, creating a bit of a roasty bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy with low levels of carbonation. Finish is a bit too roasty and dry for my taste. Drinks pretty well and this is certainly something I’d order again. 12oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some off white head. Nose is boozy, sweet, licorice, jelly beans, malts, toasted bread. Flavors of cherry, coffee liqueur, malts, licorice. Very sugary. Full bodied, sticky finish. Still very young.

22oz bottle, unknown date. Served at cellar temperature.

Pours dark brown to black with a good two finger foamy brown head that retains nicely and leaves sheets of lacing behind.

Aroma is primarily some really nice milk chocolate and coffee, dark roasted malts, underlying dark fruits, caramel and bread. Very inviting aroma with great strength.

Flavor follows with more rich chocolate and coffee notes, roasted malts, a little raisins, cherries and other dark fruits, some caramel and bread, a bit of alcohol at the end.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, very creamy, oats working nicely here, soft carbonation.

Mmmmm very tasty Imperial Stout, very drinkable due to the lower than average ABV and wonderful flavor, aroma, and mouthfeel. Not as intense or thick as others in the style, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Bottle shared by Sendsilk on BA. Dark creamy pour with a nice oily, spotty lacing. Aroma is pretty much a lot of malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is malty up front followed by chocolate on the back end. Nothing super special but a good solid beer.
