COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex Ė Double Stout.

Bottle dragged from the cellar where it has been resting for some time. The pour is beautyful black with a nice fluffy brown head. Spot on. The nose is coffee and mighty burned with light hoppy notes. The taste is warm and pleasent. with a medium palate thet are smooth without beeing sticky. The balance is spot on. The burned malts along with licorice and chocolate topped with some light bitterness from hops. The finish is round with lots off coffee and bitter notes. Damn this is a good beer. Im a fan... must have more. Thanx

650ml bottle. Pours black with small amount of beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, and raisin. Body creamy with notes of dark chocolate, molasses, and some light roasted coffee. Finish is lightly bitter coffee, but lingering. Nice imperial stout!

Poured near black but no viscosity to speak of. The head was somewhere between tan and brown with spots of lacing. The aroma was mostly coffee and hops with some definite citrus coming through. The flavor was roasted malts, coffee and a touch of hops with some sweeter chocolate coming out as it opened up. Not quite medium in body. Pretty good.

Itís a very good, no frills strong stout. This beer doesnít try to do anything fancy. The appearance is simple, black liquid and brown creamy head. Chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavors are strong in the beerís aroma. The flavor is rich and just nails my notion of the style. Iím not saying that itís my very favorite stout, but itís a superbly made stout. The feel is excellent, creamy and smooth.

On tap at Pizza Port (Solana Beach, CA): Pours black with a thick brown foamy head. Roasted malts in the nose as well as dark chocolate and some alcohol. Taste is similar with some added earthy hops and licorice that leaves an incredibly sweet and balanced mouthfeel with a delicate bitter hop finish. Drinkability: Heavy, not thick, smooth and creamy. Dark chocolate stands out. Pairing: Meat pie. Rebuy: Definitely. #288 on 25022010, DG.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2011 Bomber. Black coffee colored with an inch of thick cappuccino head. Aroma is sweet roasted malt and Kahlua. Taste begins with strong toasted malt sweetness and caramel followed by bittersweet chocolate and coffee liqueur. It finishes slightly dry and smoky with some mild coffee bitterness. The overall flavor is sweet, smooth and silky.
