COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle pours black with a tan head. Aroma shows notes of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and a good dose of earthy hops. Flavor shows pretty much the same. Overall body is moderate to full, with just enough bitterness to dry it out. Eh.

On tap at Draught House. Courtesy Frattos buddy. We talked him into a taste. Very dark black color with a tan ring of head. Aroma is roasted notes, coffee and heavy chocolate. Flavor is excellent. Heavy chocolate and roasted malts with lots of toasted bitterness on the finish. Nice.

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a dark brown with a small diminishing light tan head. The aroma is a roasted malt cherry and alcohol. Thin mouthfeel with a bitter malt with cherry and chocolate. Alcohol present, a good Imperial stout from Green Flash.

from erzbierschof.ch - black coloured and with a little dark beige foam left; a bit roasted and with a deep aroma of chocolate and cocoa; full-bodied and gently tart with some sweetness below; a fair bitterness and a very long chocolatey finish with light notes of ashes

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2012 This stout was a surprise, was a random grab and resulted in being one of my favorite stouts, black malts create a complex profile, highly recommended

Pours thick like 3 year old motor oil. Sweet candy coffee carmel flavor with mild carbonation. Smooth finish leaves you asking for another sip. Great brew, try one!

(12oz bottle). Pours black with chocolate head. Some lacing developing. Aroma of coffee, cocoa and maybe some dark berries. Taste is roasty bitter, but there is a sweetness that serves as the backbone to balance this beer out. I’m getting a peppery aspect as well. Full bodied and creamy texture. Finish is bitter, but nice.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2012 Bottle pours a pitch black with a thumbsized brown head. Scent is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Very creamy. Excellant!
