COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Outstanding. Roasted, somewhat bitter malts fill and coat the mouth. Almost a burnt flavor. Not exactly chocolate or coffee or licorice, but rich and complex.

Pour deep dark brown, nearly black, with a slight ruby hint. Loosely pack tan head, which disappeared fairly quickly. The nose is rich, a little oaked and almost a rye hint. A definite alcohol warmth, with burnt malt. Burnt toast, a little cough medicine and whiskey. Awesome combination. The malt body is great, rich toasted malt, but a nice mellow malt sweetness balances this out. The mouthfeel is fairly thick, a good whack hops in there too, which help the bitterness with the toasted malts. Green flash can do no wrong, an honest stout, it's imperial to me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong no-nonsense imperial stout. Solid roasted malt flavor, with coffee notes. A non-sweet, more "old school" bitter stout. Quite good. B+. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Asahiya. Big fat sugary choco and light coffee nose. Pitch black, thick dark head. Very pleasanr choco initial / moves up with hopping in mid / finishes nicely bitter, just a touch. Smooth and rich, almost oily. Very well-made stuff, doesn’t go much over the top (like a lot of their brews). Not quite in the same league as Rasputin and the other heavenly imperial stouts. But very good.

Very nice. Wonderful balance and great complex palate full of different aromas here. Pours black with pretty good mocha head and lacing. Aroma of nutty-chocolate and a huge dose of roast malt. Finishes with a great mix of bitterness and sweetness with hint of tang. Soft carbonation and thick, slightly oily texture with a little cream to boot. Nice long term, cloying leave of musky roast. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a very dark, almost black beer with medium sized, brown head on top. Aroma bursts out of the bottle, full of coffee, roasted malts and hints of caramel and molasses. Flavour is quite sweet and slightly boozy, making it full bodied and great to drink. Mouthfeel is a bit thick and it has a long, light sweet finish. Very nice beer!
