Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Bottle. Black colour, with an enormous brownish head that last for long good while and leaves a milky lace. My first thouhgt was "What’s that horrible smell? It’s like smelling ink. Now, just leave it aside for a while and it opens to chocolate, vanilla, coffee, liquorice, raisins, brandy... and milk. A really creamy palate, plus a medium to full body makes you really enjoy it. Taste is as smell: milk chocolate, vanilla, raisins, brandy, coffee. Really great.

Bottle from the Bristol Beer Emporium. Pours black with a purple tint, and an average sized tan colour lasting head. Aroma is a heady mix of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits and treacle. Medium sweetness, quite heavy on roasted bitterness. Medium/full bodied with a slick texture. Finish is of bitter dark chocolate, dry, but with a creamy edge. Quite delicious.

Dark brown color. Raosted malt with coffee aromas. Taste of burnt malt, chocolate and some coffee-like bitterness. Light bitter finish. Would have liked a thicker body.

8.8%ABV. Stout Poured out black. 40ºSRM. Nose has dark fruit, liniment, smoke, dark honey. Mouthfeel is light. Palate has smoke, charcoal, oatmeal, wheat malt, flour, Finish is carbon like. A little light on on the finish and maybe even a little plastic-like, but this may be a function more of the expiry than the actual beer. Would love to taste a fresh one, though I can’t be sure it’ll be better.
