COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

UPDATED: MAR 2, 2014 The may be one of the most drinkable <8% stouts I’ve had. I love how dry and light it is which is not typical of a stout of this ABV. While thin and not overpowering it does not leave more to be desired. Well balanced and incredibly drinkable, love it!

355ml bottle. Black pour, creamy tan head. Smell is dark cocoa, earthy hops, roasted malt notes, slight caramel and sweetness. Flavor is sarp and roasty, coffee dominates, dark cocoa, slight fruitiness, pretty dry and bitter finish. Really nice.

Barwa: czarna , nieprzejrzysta. Piana brązowa, początkowo średnio potem drobno pęcherzykowa, niezbyt obfita i szybko opadająca. Aromat: czekolada, kawa, ale mniej intensywny niż butelki, wyraźna również paloność. Smak: słodycz, potem cierpkie, palone słody, czekolada gorzka i kawa.

Dark black with coarse brown head, good so far. A lot of chocolate and black coffee up front with a heavy syrupy sweetness. A bit too bold for it’s own good. Loses some of it’s backbone due to the presence of alcohol and sweetness. I’d prefer it slightly toned down.

Pours very thick with nice tan head. Aroma is hop forward with rich roasted finish. Mouthfeel and flavor are all a step up. Nothing to complain about here; far better than your average imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This foreign stout has a lot of complex flavors going on that work really well together. I love this beer because it expresses the characteristics of imperial stouts, but at a more manageable drinking gravity. Poured into a tulip, think tan head brimming the top of the glass. Lots of roast, earthy hops, silky finish. Fantastic!

Nice dark chocolate nose. Black pour with tan head. Aroma is rum soaked raisins drenched in brown sugar. Flavour brings out burnt malts with dark fruits. The finish is burnt with some alcohol warmth. Great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At a tasting, thanks teddybeer, creamy bubbly light brown head, very long lasting, aroma of soy, caramel candy and roasted coffee, flavour of dark burned caramel, roasted coffee, charred notes and dark chocolate, creamy mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Very nice to sip.

Look: Pours with huge, thick (small bubbles), creamy, dark mocha head, it’s gorgeous. Leaves some sticky lacing when it goes down, otherwise good, slow, mountainous retention. Top layer that stays is very thick, creamy and leaves some random lacing when you drink. Colour is clear, dark with brown hue (but can’t really see through).

Smell: Milk chocolate is the story for this one. Combined with dark fruits (currant), deep roast, medium sweet caramel and light smoke presence. This sweet malt mix is very pleasant, soft, it hugs you like a little child - warm, milky and sweet. Also some light lemon, hey hops with a hint of floral.

Taste: Dark fruits (currant mostly) still there, but tuned down. Milk chocolate still the most dominant. The middle medium sweetness consists mostly with milk chocolate and pleasant lighter roast and light coffee. Ends with medium (mostly roasted and some milk chocolate notes) bitterness and some hop presence, pine and citrus mucus. Stays for a while, gets sharp and slightly unpleasant in the after-taste - quite the opposite from the milky, warm, hugging character in the smell. Alcohol well incorporated, also some light sour and very light metallic notes here and there.

Mouthfeel: Full light-heavy body, creamy but not as smooth as one would hope, carbonation maybe a bit to crisp, semi-dry finish.

Overall: It’s an interesting beer, has it strong points but there are also some things that bother me, the aggressive bitterness ruins the whole image of milky, warm beer that is created in the smell. It starts as a very balanced, smooth, pleasant but then kicks you. Maybe that works for some. Is this the real life?
