COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex Double Stout.

Dark, dark brew, the room grew dimmer when I opened the bottle. Used motor oil colored with a tiny thin light brown head. Wonderful scent of this mornings coffee grounds and unsweetened baking chocolate with a hint of slightly burnt toast and even more subtle traces of toffee. Wow, so many flavors going on at once, where to start? Thick and chewy, great feel, coats the mouth without being cloying. I am digging this beer! Sweet roasted malts in the lead but loads of supporting cast members, prunes, mineral salt, caramel, tannins...just so much going on here. A very well made and complex beer with layer upon layer of goodness!

Draft. Pours black with thick creme colored head that lingers. Sweet chocolate coffee aroma over mild carbonation. Thick and chewy. Chocolatey but a bit metalic? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black, two finger rocky head, nice lacing. Aroma roast, caramel, toffee, earthy, dark fruit, bitter sweet chocolate. Taste dark fruit, roast malt, burnt sugar, earthy hops, caramel, toffee, slight boozy and slightly bitter on the finish. Mouthfeel full body, medium low carbonation, alcohol warming, slight roast astringency, balanced finish. Overall really good beer, tasty, well made, complex, yet balanced, this is underrated.

Bottle. Jet black with tan head and solid lacing. Coffee and chocolate on the nose. Thick, luscious mouthfeel courtesy of the oats, with chocolate, coffee and hop complexities giving interest towards the finish, The alcohol is integrated immaculately for such a big beer. Just what a stout should be.
