Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

This, this is a good beer. So far, it's my favorite from Green Flash. This is a big beer. About as dark as you can get. Very malty with a very thick head. The malts and oats balance well with each other and finishes strong on the back of the throat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thin brown head on dark black pour. Dark chocolate and caramel flavors. Bitter, long finish that balances nicely with the slight burn of alcohol. I would love to try this after spending some time in rum or bourbon barrels.

Bottle from 4-pack marked on clearance. Rich chocolate malt aroma. Fully opaque dark brown body with a light brown head. Excellent head retention and pretty lace. Rich, well balanced stout with moderate sweetness and plentiful hops in the finish. Excellent brew.

Notes of wine, chocolate and coffee. A very unique beer. Good though for one or two.. not liters.

Transfer from BA review on 4-25-13- Poured from bottle into a snifter Appearance- The beer pours a nearly pitch black color with a two finger brown colored head. The head has a nice level of retention, fading over time to leave a great level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma is heaviest of a big roasted malt smell mixed with lots of dark coffee and chocolate. Mixed with these more bitter aromas are some smells of a sweeter dark fruit variety as well as some char. Taste – The beer begins with a strong roasted malt flavor with some light sweetness of dark fruits upfront. As the flavor advances past the initial taste, a bitter chocolate and coffee come to the tongue drowning out much of the sweeter tastes that were detected before. While these more bitter dark flavors last to the end they are later joined by some flavors of smoke and a bit of booziness. These when mixed also with a light vanilla and woody taste leave a moderately bitter and roasted flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is thick and creamy with a rather lower level of carbonation. The combination is fantastic for the roasted and moderately bitter and dark flavors. Overall – A dark and drier Imperial stout with tons of roasted malt flavor and a decent bitter bite.

On tap at Raleigh Times. Dark dark brown with a bit of tan head. Cocoa malt aroma. Dark cocoa taste with a bitterness that remains on the palate. Growing on me, but I'd bet this would be absolutely outstanding aged in bourbon barrels. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Complex aroma of dark fruits, deep, roasted chocolate and coffee notes, a bit of vanilla and sweet caramel malts. Appearance is black, with a thick brown head, with great retention and lacing. The taste is strong, deeply roasted coffee. Dark fruits. Surprisingly bitter, leaves a bit of a bite on the tongue. Bitterness distracts a little bit more than I’d like. Palate is thick, and sticky, and really remains on the tongue for the aftertaste. Overall this is a sensational stout with great balance.

Pours black with a moderate brown head. Great aroma. It has notes of chocolate, wine, biscuit sweetness, roasted malt. Flavor is heavy sweet, chocolate/nesquik, dark fruits, light wine, a bit acidic.
