3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Straightforward full bodied Imperial Stout with malts the focus. No over the top bitterness, bourbon, or quirky ’West Coast’ additions. Old World indeed.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours deep black with thin foamy tan head. Aroma is medicinal molasses. Taste is much of the same with additional liquorice and, as such, is not really my kinda stout. Smooth mouthfeel and does grow on me after a while, but essentially not my cup of tea.
