4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jjuf1853 (1157) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - MAY 15, 2012Draft at World of Beer (Tampa Palms). Pours a extremely dark brown color with a mild tan head. Sudsy tan sheet of lacing along the glass. Aroma is dominated by dark roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is quote nice and smooth with a decent amount of hop bitterness in the finish. The high alcohol is hardly noticeable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2013
My Bottom Line:
Caramelized raisins, aniseed angles and delicate dark chocolate merge in this cake-like Imperial Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam sticks to the top of the blackness.
-Carbonation is smooth enough to let all the malts shine.
-This is a sweet rendition, but it never gets sickly.
-Malts also offer roasted bread crumb allusions.
-Alcohol is not a major factor in the flavor profile.
Bottle.

355ml bottle. Black colour with huge, creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma has notes of dark chocolate, a dry touch of fruit parings. Taste is initially chocolately dark malty, fruity notes of dark berries, later with dry hoppy overtones; dry, minimally roasty finish, smooth palate.

Poured from a bottle into a glass. Black pour with a mocha brown head that is thick with lacing. Aroma dominated by dark roast malt and chocolate. Taste is a great balance of dark malts, mild coffee and dark chocolate with a bitter finish. Smooth mouth feel with mild carbonation. Thick body. Great.

Bottle: Color: Deep brown, black. Pillow cream head. Aroma: Malt, chocolate hint . Flavor: Sour, mildly malt/chocolate/roasted flavor. I understand the bold flavor profile, however did not get much complexity.

On tap at Sweetwater. Dark brown pour with a mocha head. Alluring roasted malt aromas. Good body, really good mouthfeel. Impressive foreign stout, cuz I usually dislike this style. Creamy and desert like with decadent chocolate, caramels, fudge, mocha, and velvety roasted malts. Very well done.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Duvelfan (86) - Getxo (Basque Country), - MAY 11, 2013
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 zenkis (245) - Ogre, LATVIA - MAY 10, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 bottle.
Pours almost black with dark reddish tones, brown creamy medium top with medium retention, middle lacing. Aroma - good intensity, dominant roasted malt with notes of burnt, light sweetness, far away chocolate, creamy, almost no fruitiness. First saps are sharp, umami (I would like to describe it as robust but must understand what "geeks" mean with this word) - seems like from over carbonation, but it is medium CO2 filled. Later mouthfeel seems more gentle, creamy with dry, hopping bitter, long finish, thick texture, although palate is not so silky, so smooth like even "Founders" porter. Taste is minimal malty sweet, backboned by roast and burnt bitter as well as hopping bitter - medium. O.A. - very good brew, but I can’t exactly explain why - maybe simplicity of balance make it good, maybe something else, but I can’t find any less than good aspect of this brew although I would prefer more silky, more sweet and more complex flavor dark beers but then I must go and find some of according style. So - cause I yet can’t figure out the big difference between stouts and porters I would say - good dark roasted type brew.
