The aroma had grapefruit, molasses and some roasted peanuts. The taste was bitter bread crust with some almonds. There was also tea and some apple core. Decent, but a little boring. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2006 <!-- i -->Bottle from SantaChriso.<!-- /i --> Pours a bit lighter than I had expected. Good head on top, however. Good lace, too. Hoppy and dry aroma. Some citrus and a bit of (not good) funkiness. Citrus and hoppy in the mouth. Somewhat dry. Way in the background is a bit of toasted malts. As it warms up, it gets a little thin. It would probably be a good lawn mower beer, now if only I mowed my lawn today ... blankboy (3263), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of fordest. Pours a clear gold with a good size mostly-lasting foamy white head. Nice fresh citrus hop aroma backed with some sweet malt -- simple and pleasant. Flavour’s crisp and hoppy with some light sweet malt, some grain and a nice bitter finish -- it doesn’t blow me a way but for the style it’s quite nice. Medium bodied. You know, for a Pale Ale this is surprisingly hoppy and quite good. HogTownHarry (4037), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle. Pale clear gold, large foamy-creamy white head. Mild resiny-sweet hops, sweet dusty malt, some orange juice - mild but pleasant. Somewhat mild taste, light malt, some grain, plenty of dry hops, medium bitter hoppy finish. Average body - in fact nothing really memorable about this, but not too shabby. mikebeertaster (99), vancouver, Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 17, 2006 not too bad of a pale, but some of the NW pale ales would rate much higher. It is a fairly hoppy, tasty beer. I am looking forward to another bottle, just wouldn’t go out of my way to buy more JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Golden color with lots of bubbles and a tall off-white head. Nice rings of lace gets another point. Fresh bread mixed with green herbs and mild citrus in the aroma. Somewhat raw in scent. Light citric sweetness start, with a some fresh bread flavors and a hint of rubber cement.. Crisp in feel. A mild salty finish. Actually a mild APA, but quite quaffable, and quite true to form. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Golden hue. Earthy nose. Bright, easy-to-drink mouthfeel. Toasty, bready malts. Very mild sweetness in the background. Green, grassy and herbal hops. Balancing bitterness; kind of drying in the finish. Nice nip of pine, tangerine and grapefruit in the aftertaste. Overall, not a bad pale at all. Felt it was kind of odd at first, but it grew on me. iowaherkeye (1892), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2006 12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma of soap, pine perfumey hops, some grainy and biscuity malts. Taste is much the same, medium bitterness only showing up for a moment in the middle and then coming back for a lingering light bitter finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Nothing crazy exciting here.
