COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
East Village Pilsner -
What Fizzy Yellow Beer should be!

I believe that "Fizzy Yellow Beer" can and should be full of life and flavor unlike domestic mass produced, mundane, lifeless, boring, bland, fizzy yellow, insipid swill that takes up cooler space and tap handles at our local markets, pubs and restaurants. San Diego’s East Village is full of life and Green Flash is adding flavor to this burgeoning neighborhood with "East Village Pilsner". It’s made from premium European Pilsner Malt and Noble Hops. Traditional Pilsner lager yeast ferments the beer and imparts a clean flavor, yet unique character during the one-month lagering period. Of course our East Village Pilsner has a bit more hop than even the best European examples, which makes it truly a Green Flash Original. 5.3% ABV – 35 IBUs.

Aliased as East Village Pilsner in their local series. Kinda boring in context of their pretty awesome line-up, but not bad. Crisp and light...I was hoping for a little livlier hop note, but the malt kinda carries this one. Just ok."

Hazy deep blond color. Light grassy and hay aroma, dry and simple mouthfeel, with light grassy final. Very ordinary.

On tap at the Forge. Appearance: golden straw color, white head, clear, great lacing. Aroma: rice, light wheat, sweet but light fruit. Palate: light body, light bitter finish, dry finish, average carbonation. Taste: light sweet rice and into fruit. Overall, good for style, pretty unique, very drinkable.

Draft. Pours a nice slightly hazy hay. Aroma is grass, bit of white bread, faint citrus. Taste is crisp, grassy, slightly bitter, light floral notes, cracker. Incredibly drinkable, pretty refreshing. Great American example of the style.

northropfrye (2218) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 31, 2014
On tap at Brick and Barley, Grand Forks. A very good pilsner. Looks pretty average, pale golden yellow with white head. But has a nice bitter hoppiness to it which makes it a true pilsner rather than the crap masquerading as "pilsner". Not bad.

A really nice pils. Great toasted wheat aromas and flavors with a wonderful hoppy bite that lingers.

On draught at 2014 LagerFest. Clear, fizzy golden color. Aroma is golden corn, light grass, and sweet caramel biscuit. Taste is sweet biscuit, grass, and a touch of spice. Very smooth.

7/11/14. Draft at surf club. Exactly as described. Classic Pilsner pour, look, and nose. A little bit of a hop kick makes this a great session beer with a bit of a hop profile but none of the astringency of most of the session IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Belmont Station. Colour...very pale straw with a corpulent white head. Nose...much more hoppy than I expected for a pils, with notes of honey and kiwi skin. Palate...frothy, crisp, and husky with fresh cut hay, jasmine flower and hop crisp. The bitterness is evident throughout and the noble hop character predominates. The finish is clean and honeyed with notes of cut grass.

Pours a fuzzy yellow color with a corn and hay aroma. Taste is simple with a light malt and minor earth flavor. Some remnants of hops in the aftertaste but it dissipated rather quickly. This is a simple easy drinking pilsner that has some farm like flavors.
