4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Beer Revolution.
Aroma is full of fruit with some light oak character and some acidity. Lots of cherries, plums, prunes and currants with some faint vanilla and spice. Light acidity in the aroma but not too acetic.
Pours a burnt amber with ruby notes. Solid, slightly off white head with really good retention. Light lacing and very small legs.
Flavor is similar to the aroma with lots of fruitiness with balanced oak and acuity. Lots of cherry, currant, plum and prune. The acidity compliments and isn't too overpowering - some acetic acid but mostly lactic. Finish has some oak, vanilla and spice character with faint acidity. the finish has a bit of raisin in it and other dried fruit as well.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium full carbonation. No astringency and low alcohol warmth. A bit of a smoothness to it; the acidity definitely isn't too sharp.
Overall this is one of the best American Flanders Ales that I have had. Lots of fruitiness with balanced malt character and acidity.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
75cl bottled April 2015, kindly shlepped and shared by oldmanriver@impuritylaw’s hosted Cellarclearing 2, I/2016, merci. As Cellar 3 Flanders Drive. - Woody vanilla over upfront lacto (yoghurt, whey), loads of balsamico rosso in aroma, composed as a friendly invite more so than ripened as an organic invitation. - Lacto-pedio-brett come to play upon the engineer’s invitation in a red berry yoghurt pool, before the kids’ pool is filled with raspberry juice and the near 7ABV falls flatter on its ass. - Some very enjoyable flavours in an unrounded sour with some rough edges. Very interesting to drink a glass of, - grateful to share to bottle.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours brownish red with a thin off white fizzy head.
Tart cherries and bourbon on the nose.
Cherries, bourbon, a little acid and tartness in the flavor. Pretty delicious.
Pretty good sour. Reminds me of Cascade’s Sang Noir but not quite as good.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
750 ml. bottled April 30, 2015. Big nose of tart cherry, plum, vanilla, leather, brown sugar and hints of vinegar and whiskey. Reddish brown body sports a meringue of foam that settles to a thin disc. Tastes of cherry, vinegar, earthy brown sugar, cream, oak and just a touch of whiskey. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Strikes a highly drinkable balance of creamy sweetness vs. sour acidity, and finishes with just enough barrel and bourbon for added depth.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours reddish copper with a one finger tan head with nice lacing. Aroma is of vinager, sour fruits, red wine, wet hay, some funk, and some toasted sweet malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with the addition of some bourbon notes. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and sour, bone dry, long, lingering finish. Overall, a tasty sour and interesting sour red with some nice bourbon barell notes.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap: The aroma consists of sour cherries, lemon, apple, and light acetone. It’s a hazy amber with a small off-white. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sour cherry. The finish has light-moderate sour lemon, light acetone, and oak. I’m not getting any bourbon. It’s light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.
