On tap at Beer Revolution. Aroma is full of fruit with some light oak character and some acidity. Lots of cherries, plums, prunes and currants with some faint vanilla and spice. Light acidity in the aroma but not too acetic. Pours a burnt amber with ruby notes. Solid, slightly off white head with really good retention. Light lacing and very small legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with lots of fruitiness with balanced oak and acuity. Lots of cherry, currant, plum and prune. The acidity compliments and isn't too overpowering - some acetic acid but mostly lactic. Finish has some oak, vanilla and spice character with faint acidity. the finish has a bit of raisin in it and other dried fruit as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium full carbonation. No astringency and low alcohol warmth. A bit of a smoothness to it; the acidity definitely isn't too sharp. Overall this is one of the best American Flanders Ales that I have had. Lots of fruitiness with balanced malt character and acidity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Oakquinox 2013. Mahogany pour, with an off-white head. Nice fruit flavors, cherry, tartness, oak, light bourbon, mild to moderate sourness, and caramel malt.

Received this in trade with Jvillefan earlier this year... Thanks a bunch Michael, this was REALLY well done. Looks like a light cola on the pour... tan head with spotty lacing. Nose is pretty proper... balanced acetic/fruity notes... dark cherries and plum.. bourbon is there but shows as more of a vanilla presence. If you subtract the barrel presence, this is a better Flanders Red than many of the Continental versions that limp to our local shelves. Again very fruity with the expected acetic/tannic wine notes... fermented out sweet cherries with underripe plums. The barrels add an all encompassing vanilla character.. A residual sweetness adds to the body... good bubbles lead to a bit of a burpy burn for me. This is a winner... Damn happy I was able to try it... Thanks a bunch Michael... You are a fantastic trader.

Hell yeah! Reddish pour, creamy head. The balsamic notes, oak, bourbon, tart cherry notes are pretty cohesive and really fun to drink. Sour up front then leads to sweetness from the barrels, finally back to a prickly sourness on the end. Neat beer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Hazy brown pour with a brief, white head. The bouquet is a fruity, funky, malty swirl of sour cherries, caramel, sweaty socks and lightly toasted oak. Medium to full-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor is sour, fruity and oaken, providing notes of sour cherries and an easygoing caramel facet. Finishes tart with faint, yeasty bitterness. This world class bottle of beer was shipped to me fresh from richiesd!

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2013 Special thanks to Jeff for sharing his bottle. Apparently this is a rep-only sort of deal. Aroma of candied apples, funky brett yeast, slight oak and sour cherry. Pours red with nice pink film. Taste is wonderfully tart. Sour cherry, crab grass, great wood bourbon notes. Opens with a sharp tartness and finished with a sweet candy finish with sour cherry aftertaste. Simply a wonderful brew.

On tap. Dark garnet brown with a thin fizzy white head. Nice tart earthy green apple aroma and taste with some nice sour lemon and light Balsamic vinegar notes. Very bright palate. Quite good.

Dark amber pour with an off-white head. Lots of dark fruit aromas such as cherry, raisin, and plum. Some vinegar, a bit of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and malt sweetness. Very nice, round flavor. Good balance of caramel malt sweetness, bourbon, vanilla, and sourness. Plenty of raisin and cherry, a bit of red grape, and some wood. Moderate acetic sourness and a slightly dry finish.

Pours a hazy red-amber color with a cappuccino-like frothy, sticky head. Aroma was very candy-like, fruit punch, pineapple, sour patch kids, and a hint of woodiness. Flavors were predominantly SOUR with lots of fruit punch, pineapple, more sour patch kids, not a whole lot of bitterness at all. A bit of sweet maltiness to balance things out, but still super super sour. It made the surface of my tongue feel like I ate too many sweet tarts (a good thing in my book). Palate was very rich and full-bodied, creamy and silky with a sticky finish that gave way to an acidic dryness at the tail end. Overall an excellent beer, and an excellent sour beer at that. Amazing!!
