Oct 27, 2009 bottle, pours dark mahogany with a medium tan head. Brown sugar, raisin, and yeasty aroma. Flavors are nice with a carmel malt and brown sugar being upfront and some spicing and raisins in the background with some alcohol coming forward late with a sort of metalic sour note in the finish. Solid dark BSA.

Oct 15, 2009 2009-10-12. Dark brown body with a nice foamy tan head. Aroma is lightly metallic, brown ale like roast/toast touche, modest dark fruit, light alcohol. 7+ Flavour is similar, dark malt base is moderate, toasty malt touches, dark fruit and dry alcohol in the finish are prominent, bitterness in the finish is tough to separate from the dryness of the alcohol.
