COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Belgian Style Dark Ale is inspired by traditional Abbey Ales to deliver the richest of malt flavors but with a slightly elevated hopping and increased complexity given from two different yeast strains. This malt laden ale is designed to satiate and keep your taste buds dancing.

Murky brown, a finger of beige head, not the prettiest. More hop aromas than I would expect from a Belgian style Dark. Fruity aromas of orange and darker fruits like fig. Taste is malty sweet and hoppy bitter, better as it warms. I’m not a fan of the extra hopping, but I guess I would expect it from Green Flash, but one of the weaker beers I’ve had from them which is disappointing, especially since its called "Grand Cru".

A nice full and heavy Belgian style brew with a yeast and toffee palate. Pours a nearly pure black with a finger of beige head. The nose is sweet, malty, and fruity with notes of prune, raisin and caramel. Mild spiced notes on the finish lend a dubbel-esque style. Well balanced but heavy and rich throughout with big toasted Beglian malts.

Red-brown pour. Aroma of prunes, brown sugar and yeast. Flavor is quite hoppy: orange, resin, malt, dark fruits, and alcohol. Great. Nice mouthfeel.

Bottle: Pours deep brown with a huge, dark tan head. Light chocolate malt aroma, yeast, dark bread. Taste is sweet, malty caramel and cocoa powder..... banana...cake. Very tasty.

One year old bottle pours a medium reddish brown with a little eggshell fizz. The aroma is a nice rich roasted malty brew with an herbal hint. The flavor is rich and malty, kind of chalky grains with a good bit of depth and roast. A nice light chocolate with whole grain bread feel. The hops are still well in the mix, an earthy herbal and dried flowers. Moderate carbonation leaves it feeling full and lingering on the tongue but with some dryness. Nice brew, did well to age one year.

Had on draft at the brewery. Fruity, spicy/clove, solventy, malty, Belgian yeast character, nice overall.

Biggish beige head. Clear deep dark brown body with lots of little particles floating. Roasty minty toffee aroma with fruity spicy notes. Dry-sweet roasty cardamom taste with spicy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel with slight heat. Dry-sweet soy sauce and resin aftertaste with roasty cardamom notes. Nice, but a bit too spicy. (0.355l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

750ml bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with a lasting beige head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma is roasty malt, vanilla and molasses. Taste is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Light to medium body, creamy texture, average to soft carbonation and a long lightly bitter finish. Hides the alcohol very well. Excellent!
