Dark brown with a thin lacing of tan head. Aroma is dark fruit, some slight banana and clove. Flavor is big sweet malt with a nice bitterness to balance it out. Finish is very clean, with a tiny amount of hops. Not overly sweet at all like some big grand crus. Excellent beer. Wife’s Rating: 4.25/5

bottle. deep brown with one finger head. this bottle has over three years on it, but it seems like it’s held up ok. malty with dark fruit, particularly raisin and plum, some brown sugar. slightly bitter finish, but it doesn’t seem like the bitterness is hoppy. some mild belgian influence as well.

Backlog. Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 06.05.13. Dark brown. Sweet aroma of prunes, tobacco box and port. Well-balanced taste with dark malt and hops. Coffee and bitter hops in aftertaste. Appropriate mouthfeel, Quaffable!

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

draft that poured a nice big nose of sweet malts and dark fruits all blended nicely together. mild hops on the end. the flavor was very smooth of sweet malts and dark fruits maybe plums and cherries and possibly some raisin. there is a smooth alcohol burn on the end but nothing to really note of...very nice all the way around.

Old rating. On tap. Brown-reddish color. Bready, caramel, raisins, some bubblegummy Belgian aspect, some chocolate. Not bad. Not amazing.

Dark reddish-brown pour with thin tan head. Smells of raisins, toast, and alcohol. Heavy fruit flavor with some alcohol, but finishes pretty clean. What’s left is a nice malty lingering aftertaste.

Lightly sweet with a touch of red apple in the flavor. Pours amber in color with a nice off-white head. Notes: At the brewery

Gift from SJ. I’m starting to like this company. Nice notes of brown sugar, bitter dark chocolate, banana and bread. Well done.

Poured from a growler picked up at the tasting room. Clean aroma with almost a rose petal accent. Raisin and toffee notes follow. Pours Amber with a cream coloured foam that persists. Lacing lingers as you would expect. Clean malt taste with effervescent carbonic bitterness. Aftertaste lingers with a clean bite. For a 9.1 ABV ale, very refreshing
