Flavor is big sweet malt with a nice bitterness to balance it out. Finish is very clean, with a tiny amount of hops. Not overly sweet at all like some big grand crus. Excellent beer.

I used to wear them a bit but now I favour Vans. Need so chunky ones but struggling to find any that suit. This is delicious, heavy malty monster easing me towards sleep.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MacMoney (792) - Alabama, USA - MAY 26, 2013
355ml bottle, 24/05/13, bottled 30/10/12. Pours a dark auburn brown, almost black. Head is medium-sized, the color of latte, but disappears in a haste. The sweet aroma has caramel, earthiness, touch of yeast and spiciness. Dark fruits too, especially date. Taste is surprisingly dry. There’s dark fruits and caramel - not that surprisingly. Dried fruits, spiciness and ethanol as well. Lightly stingy with resinous nettles and alcohol on the finish. Palate is fairly full, a bit stingy with the alcohol, somewhat carbonated. Alright, but doesn’t have a thing on the real deal and yet nothing that sets it apart either.

Bottle. Very dark mahogony color with dark ruby tones. Very generous head that stayed awhile. Nice complex aroma of dark fruit, raisin, belgium yeast, slight citrus hop, caramel. Taste is on spicy side with coriander. Creamy texture. Medium bodied. Slight warming alcohol. Hop bitter finish. Great stuff. This brewery is becoming one of my favorites. Nice.
