Bottle Pours a gorgous brown with a good off white head. The head is creamy and mostly lasting. It also provides good lacing. Has a good sweet aroma of fruits, caramel, and sugar. Has a good carbination. Has some real good flavors. This reminds me of a Belgain from Belgium. Has a good blending. A solid finish with a good aftertaste. Has a watery to dry texture. A tiny little alcohol burn. A good drinking beer.

"definitely a lot of ripe dark fruit going on here, as well as the yeasty flavor and nose. i have to say, when you hold it up to light it looks like diarrhea, but tastes much better."

Dark brown with dense tan head. Dark fruit and raisin aroma. Taste is fig, raisin, scotchy malt, chocolate. Not as good as I had been anticipating.

Deep brownish red pour with khaki head a half inch high. Somewhat sour, very malty scent. Spicy red hops, strong florals, and brown sugar. Low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, dry tingly finish. Malty sweet taste with peaty and roasty/ashiness, stony (if that’s a flavor), carmel, dark fruit, fig perhaps, some melon. Taste like and american strong ale with lots of scottish/scotch influence.

Draft at Faucets in Tokyo. Deep maroon color, beige head. Aroma of nutty caramel. Taste is sweet and sour nuts. Odd.

Very rich, malty, dried fruit taste - lots of burnt raisins & cherries bouncing off the tongue. This is a true homage to the Belgium tradition with a beer that excretes rich Belgium Monasteries.

Appeared to work off of the palat recker recipe. Strong hop flavor with caramel malt flavor. To hoppy for a double. Strong ale work.

Bottle at Grand Cru tasting at Beer&Beyond shop. Hazy brown with a nice off-white head. Aroma - phenolic, yeast, dried fruits and hops. Sweet, dark fruits flavors, quite alcoholic, nutty and spicy with moderate hoppy bitterness. Medium-full bodied.

Draft @ Sunset Grill & Tap. Dark brown thick yeasty pour, lasting head. Aromas of dark fruits, candi sugar, pumpernickel bread, and lots of yeast earthiness. Deep layers of yeast and earth.
Flavor is a mirror of the aroma with a spicy element that reminds me of a Christmas based dark ale. Almost like a nutmeg, cloves and licorice. The two separate yeast strain helps to give a layer of complexity. Body is on the full side with a chewy yeasty texture. The alcohol is covered nice with all the layers of yeast, spice and malts. Still a light burn after the sip, this was a nice finish to my 5 hour long session at Sunset Grill & Tap.

12 ounce bottle into a Le Watou - nose is sugar candy, caramel and a little spice. I’m glad I got a case of this! Sweet and smooth. Slight grass hop kick.

The ale pours dark amber in color with a long lasting tan head. As the head diminishes, lacing appears on the glass. There are basement aromas combine with faint spices. The is a roasted malt taste along with yeast flavors and an alcohol kick as it goes down.
