Pours a two finger light tan head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Deep brown color. Good carbonation and medium-heavy bodied - almost chewy. Caramel/raisin nose. Flavor is smooth, sweet raisin and caramel. High ABV is hidden. $9.95 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA.

Bomber. Poured clear, deep-ish brown with a frothy cap of beige head. The aroma picked up lots of darker fruits, overripe banana, and lesser dulce de leche, with earth and airy raisin accents.. came across quite sweet, but still enjoyable. The flavor found darker fruit, chocolate, and molasses at the core, with fruit and earthy bitterness plus dry, peppery spicage around.. finished with more chocolate than expected along with banana and peppery yeast. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated on the palate.. too sweet in some places, and too sharp and bitter in others.. just and OK feel.. seems like this was an older bottle with (fairly-well) aged malts and broken down hops.. but I’m not sure of the vintage.

650 ml bottle. Finland. Reddish brown colour with small tan head. Very strong aroma of berries, cherry, malt and some sweetness. Sweet berries, malt, bread, vinous notes and liquorice in flavour. Quite balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

So, I was gonna rate this with a dismissive "Green Flash should stick to hoppy beers" and be done with it. But that really isnt fair. For starters, GF makes some tasty saisons. And this beer wasn’t really bad, either. Just a bit undistinguished is all.

Clear medium brown, white head. Sweet aroma. Sweet flavor that follows the aroma. Simple but lacks a bit of complexity that i look for in anything "Belgian".

Brown pour with watery white head. Strong molasses/brown sugar and light resiny hops. Sweet malt with a more than expected abv presence. Resiny hop bitter and a medium body. Ok beer but almost hot.

22 ounce bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours extremely dark reddish brown color with a nice 1-2 finger dense khaki head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some good spotty lacing on the glass, with a decent amount of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of caramel, raisin, biscuit, molasses, banana, earth, toffee, candi sugar, and yeast spices. Some nice and very malty aromas with good balance. Taste of big chocolate, raisin, plum, molasses, clove, pepper, candi sugar, toffee, biscuit, earth, tobacco, and yeast spices. Lingering notes of molasses, raisin, earth, clove, biscuit, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of flavors with good complexity; and no cloying sweetness. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that doesn’t detract from the brew overall. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with hardly any warming at all on the finish. Overall this is a very nice and enjoyable Belgian dark ale. Nice complexity and flavor balance; and very smooth to sip on.

Note: 7+/10

Pours what looks like a syrupy dark colour. Malty chocolate nose. Taste is not as large as I was expecting and not as rich in the palate as expecting from the pour. Has good initial flavours which retreat quickly, and then reemerge in the back palate to give a bit of complexity to the beer.
