Rating #1458 03.02.2014 - On tap @revolutionyeg HopFest 2015. Clear golden pour with a bubbly white foam, spotty lacing. Citrusy sweet, mango, pineapple, punchbowl fruitiness on the nose.. Mouthfeel crisp, ,medium alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey notes, tropical fruit, and an assertive bitter kick in the teeth.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very strong hop and malt aroma, nice cloudy dark golden color. A little bit of hop on the initial taste, but it quickly fades to malt and alcohol through the after taste. Has a very malty flavor after. Want to see how this opens as it warms up

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle@home, from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Medium/strong slightly pungent aroma of bit sweet pine, alcohol and a hint of tropical fruits. Copper color with small white head and slightly hazy liquid. Strong taste of mango, pine, citrus and alcohol. Special hops come out nicely in balanced taste. Medium taste spectrum and long citrus and hoppy aftertaste. Medium palate with medium carbonation. Overall, well performing special DIPA with bit too much alcohol in aroma and in taste.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Poured from a couple of four packs I had tried this beer at howell and hood like a year ago but I had drunk so much i didnít remember it so Iíve been seeking it out lately and i happened upon a couple of 4 packs at Binnyís evergreen. Sticky, creamy, hoppy (not to mention smitty), piney, strong, and some new dwarves tropical and juicy. This was worth the wait and all the places I went to that said they had this and didnít.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy, deep golden orange color with dark golden yellow edges and a one finger, frothy white head that very slowly settles into a lasting ring. Very good retention with streaks of lacing left behind.
Very dank and floral hop aroma with some grassy, earthy pine and a nice tropical/citrus fruit presence countered by a sweet malt backbone. Resinous oils along with hints of kind bud, fresh cut grass and pine needle followed by grapefruit, mango and orange peel. Some sweet caramel malt along with toffee, biscuit and graham cracker. Malts are subtle however and donít at all interfere with the hop character.
Medium body with a blast of dry hop bitterness that lingers over tropical/citrus fruit and caramel malt sweetness into a bone dry finish. Complex hop profile with dry, earthy bitterness and resinous oil/pine needle flavor followed by juicy tropical and citrus fruit sweetness. Strong grapefruit, pineapple, mango and orange zest character balancing things out with much needed sweetness. Sweet caramel malt backbone with honts of toffee, biscuit, hazelnut and slight dark fruit notes. Some alcohol heat in the finish but overall the high ABV is decently masked. In these high ABV triple IPAs the alcohol/ethanol flavored often kills off the hops but itís nicely integrated into the finish of this beer. Complex, flavorful and decently drinkable for itís strength. A touch too malty for my liking but still a very solid beer.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Copper, mid amber colour. Weedy aroma, floral but oddly bubblegummy sweet. Sticky, resinous palate, perfect carbonation for strong IPA to cut through hop bitterness. Some caramel notes from malt and slightly heavier body than average strong IPA. Great.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Dark copper/gold pour. Aroma is beautiful pine, an array of citrus, mango. Heavily dry hopped. Medium to full bodied, mild carbonation. Bitter bight, resin, sticky. The type of in your face IPA that I love. Darn near perfect.
