4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap pour - pours orange clear with very little head. Huge hoppy aromas with big grassy citrus notes. Nice round fruity flavors with biting bitter finish. Long orange notes at the end. Medium full bodied, not a lot of burn at 10+%. Awesome.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. Pours clear copper in color. Aroma of pineapple, mango, peach, with a touch of spruce. Flavor is pine, spruce, pineapple, mango, alcohol. A nice pine and tropical fruitiness at the fore and middle with a heavier bitterness in the finish. Quite nice.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
*12 oz. bottle* Look: beautiful burnt orange body, white ring around my glass. Smell: Tropical flowers, peaches, strong earthy character ( maybe some cedar sap), mild alcohol, mild mango, oranges, faint pineapple, instant tea in the background with some grainy sweetness. Taste: Floral, candy oranges, earth, dank, spice, resin, mango in the aftertaste, huge bitterness, and alcohol heat, dry as a bone. Feel: Medium body, par carbonation. Overall: Bam! The aroma is delightful. Fruits and Flowers that melted together with some Cedar bark. The taste is a bit sweet. Which is understandable, you need a lot of malt to carry the Hops of this caliber. The alcohol is a presence that warms the body. Winter Time TRIPA? This is on the sipping side. This is one of the driest IPAs Iíve had so far. I donít know if its the alcohol or the hops. Any who, the high ABV just doesnít win the "Stellar" status for me. Maybe if these hops were used in a lower gravity IPA, I would enjoy this better. This brew is worthy.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Single bottle from Julioís. Aroma of burnt rubber, fruit and alcohol. Body is heavy but watery on the finish. Interesting brew but quite muddled. Tropical notes? Somewhat. All over the place though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz bottle. Clear orange brown with a white head. Nose is orange peel, dough, lemon-lime and dusty caramel. Sticky and resiny medium body with a buzz. Taste is grass, caramel, cat, melon and pine. Big hop bitterness is reasonably balanced with sneaky alcohol.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Gotten as a growler fill at Jasonís in Ellicott City, Md. Typical pour off a hopped up ale. Amber color with thick, long to settle light tan head. Laces well. Balanced well for an imperial IPA. Doesnít overwhelm the palate. Lingers in the finish, but not overly long. Overall, more than willing to seek this one out again.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Holy Grail. Orange with a white head. This IPA is all about the tropical fruit. I get some nice apricot and pineapple notes in the aroma. The flavor is also very hoppy. The pineapple and mango notes come through up front, with some nice pine notes also being present. The beer is fairly bitter but there is a hint of biscuit malt. The alcohol is also noticeable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Really enjoyed this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly hazy, dark orange color with a two and a half finger off white head. Leaves a thin blanket of lacing. Decent carbonation coming off the glass. Smells of slight pine, lemon, lime, melon, grapefruit, floral, and a slight sweet carmel breadiness. A very nice hoppy, yet clean aroma. Taste pretty much follows the aroma. Starts with lots of melon and citrus fruits like lemon and grapefruit. Some floral notes as well. Then the middle brings a some malt presence, as sweet carmel and a bready and grainy quality emerge and balance the hops a bit. The finish is definitely the showcase of this beer. The bready and grainy malts continue to last through the finish, but are overpowered by notes of sweet melon, some type of tropical fruit, pine, grass, lots of clean floral, lemon, and lime. A candy-like sweetness comes through and cuts the bitterness well, which is key. Even so, a dry and lingering bitter finish, which is expected for a west coast triple ipa. Nice warming sensation from the alcohol, but none to taste. High medium body with a creamy, surprisingly crisp (for 10%), and oily mouthfeel. The New Zealand hops add a great layer of complexity to this beer that is missing from many double ipas. Different and well done. Glad this is now a yearly offering.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Small head, small aroma. A bit of citrus, mostly pineapple. Good initial flavor, adds some grass and bitter citrus, malt, hidden alcohol, ends numbing dry. Enjoyable, but donít need another.
