3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I keep going back and forth on this beer because I’m not impressed by bottle #1, but by the end of #2 I warm up to it...which is likely the high ABV.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 10-18-13-
Poured from bottle into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a very lightly hazed and lightly reddish tinted deep amber color with a small white head. The head fades rather rapidly, leaving some foam islands on the surface of the beer with a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a very piney and grapefruit citrus smell. Along with these aromas are some tropical fruit aromas of mango, tangerine, and pineapple. Rounding all the aromas out is a little bit of heat, with a somewhat boozy aroma making its presence known.
Taste – The taste begins with a big grapefruit hop flavor right from the start. There is a rather strong breadiness present upfront mixed with a bit of a tangerine fruit sweetness. The tangerine fades more toward the middle being replaced by a little bit of caramel. Along with the caramel the grapefruit fades ever so slightly but is replaced and surpassed by other hop flavors. A rather potent and resinous pine flavor becomes the dominant hop flavor at the end of the taste. This pine is accompanied by a lighter earthy hop flavor and a moderately strong spicy and hot alcohol flavor, with the mix of flavors leaving a bready and resinous bitter and boozy flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is rather thick and chewy with a carbonation that is on the slightly lower side. The thick and chewy body really accentuated the resinous and boozy flavors of the brew well while the lower carbonation only furthered these two flavors along.
Overall – A rather resinous and boozy brew. If that is what you are looking for this is a fantastic choice but if looking for something easy drinking or balanced, then you may want to pass on it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle-pours bright deep orange hue with a 1/2 inch eggshell head and sparse lacing. Nose is green onion, big pinesap hops, juicy yet medicinal with a touch of cheese. Alcohol is very apparent in nose and flavors. The flavors are a mix of hot alcohol, sweet malts and huge resinous hops with quite a bit of heat that melds with the hops. Hmm, sort of all over the place with no balance or any direction. For some reason i am reminded of Great Divide Hercules here. Not bad, but more like a big hoppy barleywine than a IIPA.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a golden clear color with minimal head. Little bit a lacing left on the glass. Faint smell of floral hops and malt. Taste is hop forward with a nasty bitter bite, and alcohol burn. Off balance. For the price, I would pass. Would not recommend.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a copper color with a large diminishing head. Aroma of acohol and American hops, pine, citrus, etc. Flavor is extraordinarily bitter. Finish is phenolic and dry. Not as good as palate wrecker, I’m afraid. Maybe the hops cooked too long.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Premier Gourmet in Buffalo.
Pour is a copperish colour with a small white creamy head. Lots of pineapple and pine in the aroma. Tastes awesome! Loads of grapefruit and mango flavour with a nice resiny finish. Super smooth and deceptively drinkable at 10.1%

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strong thick head on the pour. Fruit bowl once opened. Shifts to a malty citrus blend aroma. Taste very close to aroma, caramel notes complimented by the citrus. Slight throat warming from the alcohol. Beautiful lacing down the glass. Head remained until finished.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. 1 day ago. Dark gold with a super tight thick head. Huge dank pine and citrus. The taste adds big bitter notes and spiced malt. The 10% alcohol is present but, subtle. Tropical fruit also show up at times, mainly pineapple and mango. Awesome triple ipa.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Taproom at Bayview Corner, Langley, WA
Light amber color with creamy head. One of those Double IPAs with a strong animal character; it’s full bodied and fairly sweet, with moderate fruity contribution and strong resiny final
Good but a bit cloying.
